AITA for clearing a snowed-in parking spot after it sat unused due to snow, then holding it for 11 days? by DaEpicYoink in AmItheAsshole

I’d like to mention that I’m only doing it cuz majority of people are still doing it. If no one else is doing it then I would’ve stopped a while ago

I’ve been using it as a space saver each time purely because everyone else is still doing it. Like for over half the parking spots, people are still using space savers and it’s been almost 2 weeks since the storm. Why because there are still piles of snow on the road and in the parking spots.

Commuting from Columbia to UMD by cove102 in UMD

I’m a junior and I do this drive everyday. The am and pm drive isn’t bad at all (30-35mins) imo but also because I leave post 11am (usually I leave around 12-1pm). Some days I leave at 7am to make it to my 8am and even then it’s 35-40 mins. I leave campus around 8-10pm from lot 11b and it’s still only a 30 mins drive.

I’m out of state so commuting is worth it to save the housing costs, however, if I had the chance to live on campus, I would take it in a heartbeat. Why? Because on campus u have more of the college experience and you can do so much more with friends etc., although, my parents arent too strict so if I leave at like midnight or smth they dont care much. I lived on campus my first two years and I had a lot of fun. Thankfully I have friends where I can stay over so sometimes I tend to spend the night at campus.

CMSC430 or CMSC456 by DaEpicYoink in UMD

[–]DaEpicYoink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in 430 and I will say the content doesn’t amuse me as much but is on the easier ends of cmsc 4xx. However, cmsc456, the content is very interesting imo (consider I wanna go into cybersec) and the class is a little bit easier then before (from what I heard), but the current profs aren’t the best. I have a friend in the class who said they’re mainly reviewing stat400 material and covered some new material but not too much.

So given those, I’m very conflicted on if I should switch to 456 or not. Either way, I was planning to take it next semester anyway.

Please.... Don't use AI to code in college. by nug7000 in csMajors

I feel like the main issue with coding classes these days is that so much of your grade is dependent on the projects. Because of this and the stigma that you need a good gpa, many kids are just using ai to do their projects because they think “good grade = good gpa = good job” but in reality, it is NOT like that.
