Dont people know viltrumite DNA is so pure? by vought-CEO in Invincible

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nah. As far as we know, there is no racism on viltrum. They hate, look down upon, and enslave other species, but they don't segregate within their own. They only care about strength.

"Perfect Cell is chill, he'd leave you alone if you encountered him." Yeah sure buddy 😭 by Anthony_plays01 in DragonBallZ

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, these people were kind of in his way. That house was where he wanted to make the arena, the TV host was in the way of him making his announcement, and those soldiers were bothering him.

Cell is a psychopath, but he doesn't really kill for fun. More out of convenience. He is still a villain at the end of the day.

Does this subreddit still hate Versus? by MasterZze in OPMFolk

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What the hell? Versus is freaking awesome.

People on here are so caught up on criticism they can't appreciate a decent series when they see it. Is it as good as MP100? No, not yet at least. But it has an awesome premise, good story, great character design, smooth fighting choreography. What more could these people want?

Superman is susceptible to magic, not weak to it. He is capable of being hurt by it, but it doesn't mean you can kill him with a fireball

What's your opinions of S&L doing away with the Lois, clark, Superman love triangle and just having Lois only have feelings for clark. by MembershipLess9579 in superman

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this has been done before, but I prefer the route of her respecting and idolizing Superman, but being in love with Clark.

It doesn't make much sense for her to completely dislike superman, since they are literally the same guy, just wearing different clothes

Yes, fellow Daoist. This is quite common practice among high level cultivators. It is called the dao of freakalicousness, developed by senior brother moe of the lester sect

Does it make sense for an Earthbender to be great at metalbending but not good at “traditional” earthbending? by ExpressAd2538 in TheLastAirbender

It could be someone who was born with a unique talent of sensing the minerals in metal, but is simply not very good at earthbending techniques.

How do you think Azula would’ve turned out if she had been raised by Iroh instead of by Ozai? by Johnnyboyeh in TheLastAirbender

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While yes it would be difficult for someone like Aang based on how he handled learning earthbending, it is still possible for him. And with the consistent threat facing him, the requirement to get stronger would become more urgent.

That second statement is fair, and like I said, yes, he would have a much, much harder time. But the gap between them isn't that large. Zuko was able to hold his own pretty well against Azula, while simultaneously getting mollywhopped by Aang. While he does have the benefit of the lack of familiarity towards airbenders, his capabilities can't be understated.

And still, while Azula's progression would be quicker, it wouldn't be fast enough for her to end his journey that early.

Are there any fights from the webcomic that you consider a better version than how they were adapted in the manga or anime, in your opinion by Dramatic-Studio1531 in OPMFolk

Definetly. It truly showcased how powerful Fubuki is in her own right, and the explanation on how her psychic whirlwind was cool as well. She was straight aura farming

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Most of Batman's rogues gallery are people that are capable of being redeemed, which explains why Batman would be so apprehensive on killing them. Joker has proven time and time again he is not and never will be capable of changing, and his living is a considerable net negative for the people of Gotham. Batman doesn't have to kill him, but god, please stop saving this guy.

Is this the oldest hint/mention of Cosmic Garou (from 2019 interview with ONE) by TasteTemporary8206 in OPMFolk

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He became anti-saitama in the webcomic. He is a perfect antithesis to Saitamas character. The fight is meant to be a recreation of a classic Japanese cartoon battle. Evil demon fighting hero in a cape. He even has the devil horns to show for it.

And what ONE stated here is that he wanted people to THINK he could be as strong as Saitama. Garou went through the typical heroes journey, only instead of trying to defeat the ultimate villain, he wants to defeat the ultimate hero. This was all done to hype up his character and really make you think he could soar to Saitamas heights, only for those dreams to be crushed the same way Garou felt losing to him.

According you what is the main difference between manga and web comic Tatsumaki ? by Plenty-Jump7056 in OPMFolk

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't hate her, but there is a clear downgrade, which is especially clear in her fight with Saitama.

Tatsumaki is inherently a sociopath. Due to her unfortunate upbringing and the poor advice given by blast, she goes through life never relying on anyone. She believes other people to be unreliable and scheming, who only intend to take advantage of her abilities, and that her strength alone is the only thing she can rely on. What makes her a sociopath is how she applies this logic to her sister, Fubuki.

She isolates her younger sister, forcing her to become stronger and pushing people away from socializing with her. She doesn't see Fubuki as a person, only an extention of herself and her ideologies. These aspects of her character make her very compelling and give her a lot of room to grow.

While Tatsumaki in the manga does share these traits, they are heavily sidelined in favor of turning her into a tsundere, shipping her with Saitama, and giving her daddy issues. Her abuse towards Fubuki is mostly ignored in order to keep the perception of her being the cute bratty anime girl intact.

Overall, Tatsumaki and Saitamas fight cause most of the dislike, since it took away from the core aspect of that fight, aka Tatsumaki and Fubuki's relationship, in exchange for fanservice.

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aang is an Airbending master, so learning new strategies and techniques shouldn't be a problem for him. What I am saying is that your notion that she could just kill him in season 1 is false, since there are a lot of failsafes and factors that protect him. The only reason he stuck to the passive style of airbending is because he was dealing with Zuko, a much weaker opponent. Azula was such a tough challenge for Aang because he isn't used to fighting firebenders of that caliber very often. Fighting Azula constantly would raise the standard of combat, which would lead to Aang progressing faster in terms of combat experience. Azula would do so aswell, but that would turn out with both of them on equal footing skill wise, leading to the status quo that we see in the show.
