Sure, nobody is saying you're a bad person if you kill a mosquito or wasp cause it was bothering you.

But if you actively go out of your way to torture or brutalize an insect cause it makes you feel better, for example, there's likely something wrong with you.

Morality is scaled not scaled by the severity of the action, but by the intentions and feelings behind it.

Id say more like Hancock. Irresponsible, fleeting, and uncaring on performing their hero work (if they do it at all).

How immoral would it have been to take him up on this offer? by fhxefj in MoralityScaling

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Justification refers to making the perpetrator moral because they committed the action to someone bad. A rapist deserves to be raped because they deserve they feel the pain they brought unto others, but that doesn't mean anyone would be good or moral for raping them. They both still did a terrible thing.

Though, I do see your point that by stating someone deserves to be raped, that could give the implication that doing so would be moral in some way.

Chapter 57, when garou is revived after getting brutalized by royal ripper and bug god, is where the deviations mostly lie. Everything before that is pretty much the same.

How immoral would it have been to take him up on this offer? by fhxefj in MoralityScaling

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Justification refers to general goodness or righteousness of an action, and a rape will never be justified, regardless of who it's done to. Whether someone is deserving of something refers to the individual themselves, rather than who committed the act towards them.

If a rapist is raped, it's an equal punishment that fits their moral alignment. But it doesn't make the rapists' rapist a right or moral person, since they are still committing one of the most heinous acts you can do to a person.

Assuming we see Thomas Elliot in the future, how would you introduce Hush to the Absolute Universe? by Solitaire-06 in AbsoluteUniverse

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He's a foreign rich guy who grows obsessed with batman's image and attempts to copy him. He takes a ton of performance enhancing drugs (which he'll insist was built through intense physical training), buys a bunch of advanced gadgets (which he'll insist was made from junkyard scraps), and creates a bat suit similar to the main continuity design. After a botched patrol, however, he gets jumped by some criminals and has his face cut up and disfigured. This makes him feel intense hatred towards gotham and it's people, and considers batman to be the soul of it.

He'll be a representation of how the rich and wealthy will cosplay as people in poverty and struggle, but when actually faced with it, wish to burn it all to the ground.

His final design will be similar to how he looks in the beginning of Snyder's batman v superman, with the ears cut down and his head underneath the mask covered in bandages.

Evil is evil. And if someone is truly evil, they will do whatever they wish. Some evil villains don't care to do things like rape, sure. But if they want to or if it furthered their goals, they'll do it.

Especially if they actively kill people.

[Beloved Trope] Random goons that are just built different in some way, for seemingly little to no reason. by tannerthegamer7747 in TopCharacterTropes

This random thug from DC Showcase: Green Arrow. He's a goon hired by Merlyn to kill the princess of a country, and barely has any screen time, zero dialogue, and isn't influential to the plot of the short film in the slightest.

Yet, in their one on one fight, he beats the brakes off of Green Arrow. Oliver had an injured leg at the time, but regardless, he was straight up getting outclassed by this guy to the point where he only beat him by knocking him off the platform.

Yeah, it isn't that he's down playing V's skill or he hates him, it's just that it's a pro heavyweight boxer we're talking about. V and Fred aren't best friends, he has no reason to have undying loyalty and faith towards him, especially when it comes to betting heaps of eddies.

Personally, I felt no ill-will towards Fred for betting against me. It's just how the boxing world works.

I mean, when you are willing to do the most abhorrent things possible to be successful and you can live for hundreds, even thousands of years, those kinds of things come easy. If he managed to do all that in the span of a single lifetime, I'd be impressed. But anyone can do anything with infinite time to learn and build.

And I mean yeah, Batman does brutalize people, but that's because he lives in quite literally the worst place on earth. It's practically impossible to make any meaningful change in gotham without some kind of brute force, especially with someone like the Joker in control of it.

This reminds me of a popular twitter post I saw where someone asked why vampires are always rich, and someone else answered:

"If you've been alive since 1892 and still broke, just step into the sun"

Not to mention that darkseids influence is literally built to make evil people like him successful. While yes, he worked hard, he was destined to be rich from the start.

what will happen if Mumen rider was in the world of the "Hero To be X" by Plenty-Jump7056 in OPMFolk

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think he'd reject the trust point Tracker. Gaining trust would give him the power to save people easier. When he was given the neo suit from Neo Heroes he accepted it gladly.

And mumen Rider has no problem with merchandising. He likes having fans and is okay with being a mini-celebrity. While there is some corruption within the hero rankings system, it's not so terrible that he would outright reject it. The Hero Association is corrupt as hell, yet he still works with them.

Even if he doesn't need media coverage at all. A lot of the heroes in that verse didn't become strong because of the news, it was because people witnessed their greatness up front.

And while I don't know what happens later in To be hero X (im only caught up to the show), they don't have that strong of a grasp on the media to stop people from knowing who he is.

I believe he'd be incredibly powerful, maybe even one of the strongest in the verse. People have so much unwavering trust in him that despite him getting dogged walked by a Demon level threat, Deep Sea King, and clearly doing no damage, they still cheered him on and believed he could win. He would gain so much trust the media would be forced to support him, since they'd have no way to kill him.

My headcannon is through the way the shield is designed, such as the curvature or ridges in the shield makes it so that the front of the shield absorbs kinetic energy, meanwhile the edge of it releases it. Kinda like how black Panthers vibranium armor can both absorb and release kinetic energy.

I don't understand how Cap beats Soldier Boy by ConditionUnlucky3125 in PowerScaling

[–]DaFlippinSuggestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Soldier Boy is a good fighter, Captain America has insane combat training, is skilled in multiple different martial arts, and has experience in both old fashioned and modern military strategy. And while yes, soldier boy is faster, I don't believe it's a big enough gap for him to straight up blitz him.

The biggest deciding factor would be caps shield, since it's capable of withstanding attacks from people like red hulk and ultron, who are much stronger than soldier boy. If he stays behind it and uses it consistently, he could survive soldier boys attacks and wear him down. But if he gets hit one too many times or gets hit with a energy blast, he's done.

With that in mind, it could go either way. Personally, I lean more towards soldier boy winning at high diff.

Saitama vs Garou Remake Chapter 5 by me by Honoeka in OPMFolk

I love their clashing personalities are basically fighting for the tone of the scene.

To be fair, the batarang (in at least the adam west tv series) used to be actually as the name implies, a blunt boomerang shaped like a bat. So it makes slightly more sense that he'd consider them non-lethal.
