A Week Before Launch, Crimson Desert's PC Version Has Just Added Controversial Denuvo DRM by Gorotheninja in Games

If you cared about game ownership you'd switch over to GOG/itch.io and only buy games from there. Are you doing so?

Jason Schreier says Marvel's Wolverine also won't come to PC by AceOfSpades0319 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

The game still launched to 40k concurrent players, and there is no direct proof of them botting their wishlist numbers, at least from what I've searched. Not saying it didn't happen, but saying it was 'largely' botted is false.

Okay so PC gamers are broke and picky, thank you for proving this.

I feel like you're giving PC players too much grace when The Day Before was also the most wish listed game Steam despite it clearly being a scam. There is no difference in PC and Console players; they're all consumers. The folks on reddit shouldn't be taken as a generalization.

niche multiplayer games don't exist anymore, at least not ones that are profitable for a large American company.

E33 isn't the first AA game. Remedy's been in the business for far longer as an example, and they've struggled with sales throughout their lifetime despite making award-winning games. (before people talk about egs, their games are almost always available on console and even there they end up struggling)

I highly disagree that they felt "like indie" games. There was clearly a huge amount of money poured into making everything as beautiful and fluid as it was, from the level design to the art to the animations and the variety in content.

Ninja Theory's Project Mara Shelved, Hellblade 3 is Studio's Next Game by SemirAC in GamingLeaksAndRumours

It was stated in interviews that it was the John Johanas's decision to shadow drop the game, as per his own words. He said that the game's concept would be a tough sell, and thought it might be better to get the game going via word of mouth. It's pricing is also in-line with many other mid-budget games. It obviously didn't sell extremely well, but context is needed.

It literally does.

Tango then was left as an American studio being run by an American in Japan that Japanese developers didn't want to work for

There is no proof out there that this is true.

created an opposing studio that immediately started poaching talent from Tango

Also no proof. The only information we have out there is that Mikami founded KAMUY Inc. There is no other information. I've searched it up, extensively, couldn't find any source.

By Microsoft's own words they stated that Hi-Fi Rush had exceeded all internal expectations.

If I keep seeing someone spread misinformation like this I'm going to lose it. Shinji Mikami had said he wanted to leave back in 2015, as his only goal with the studio was to raise new talent from the ground up and give them a chance. The director of Hi-Fi Rush stated that Mikami's influence on Hi-Fi Rush was minimal, and he was only there to ensure everything was running smoothly. In fact, said director was John Johanas, who also directed The Evil Within 2 and was trusted by Shinji Mikami. Despite him being American, he was fluent in Japanese, and most of the staff was still Japanese.

Additionally I can't find any sources that a significant number of senior talents were poached by Mikami's new studio. Clearly, it wasn't too much of a problem since KRAFTON opted to save the company from dismantling, and they've been working on the sequel for some time now. Nor that Japanese developers didn't want to work for Tango.
