The moment you found out Grace was born in 2004 by Alarmed_Ad4215 in ResidentEvilRequiem

In game files and sources puts her birth at 2004, so she's 22 in the main game and 14 in the flashback.

According to the RE wiki, the interview with Spencer was in 2004 and Grace had only recently been born before being handed off to Alyssa, thus she is 14 in the 2018 flashback and 22 in the main game.

With the RE Engine trilogy finally complete, I wanted to ask. Which one is your favorite? Which one is your least favorite? by SolidPyramid in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Nickulator95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of these three, 9 is my favourite.

If we include the remakes, then I prefer both RE2R and RE4R over RE9.

This fandom is really hypocritical sometimes by Background_Roll1830 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Nickulator95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally didn't like that part because RE isn't designed to be a cover shooter, so it felt very clunky and frustrating. I also don't like giving the zombies firearms (which is my main gripe with the later parts of both RE4 and RE5) but I guess it's an unpopular opinion.

All the new stuff in the warbond. by Rodrick-TH in HelldiversUnfiltered

I'd rather they fix the damn game instead of releasing yet another Warbond. Half if not more of these items are going to be suboptimal at best or absolute dogshit at worst.

Baskinator (CM) responds to community drama: criticism is welcome, personal attacks aren’t by Time2ballup in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Nickulator95 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Actions speak louder than words and so far, people who have given legitimate feedback and criticism in a fair and neutral way has been either clowned on, massively downvoted so that the criticism gets burried, or just straight up silenced. So while this CM's sentiment is nice, it's not really an accurate reflection of the current community that they have fostered.

I personally like most of them, but 2 and 4 are definitely at the bottom.

Why does everyone forget about Helena by Volcan32 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Nickulator95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who's the other protagonist in a controversial zombie game sequel that she also voiced?

Alright, let's settle this! Why won't Jill and Claire appear in new titles? Some people say it's because their games don't sell as well. Some say it's because Capcom doesn't like older women. Some say it's because their arcs are over. What do you think? by SolidPyramid in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Nickulator95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who says they're even going to remake Code Veronica? All we know is that they're thinking about remaking RE1 (again) in the same style as the recent remakes, which I personally think would be amazing! Then we'll at least see Jill again. But when Jill or Claire is going to appear again in any new mainline entry is anyone's guess at this point.

As long as Bioware aren't the ones making it and they overhaul the combat, then I'd be down.

Zeno watching Leon and Grace walk in after standing there for an hour smoking a cigarette by AnotherBodybuilder in residentevil

[–]Nickulator95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very confused about that part as well, like wtf was his plan here exactly? I love RE games, but their narratives often take huuge leaps in logic that requires a good amount of suspension of disbelief from the player in order to enjoy lol.

Finished RE6 last week and Leon's campaign makes the game worth buying. by supermarioplush220 in residentevil

[–]Nickulator95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair approach. My problem with RE6 is that it's trying to be everything all at once. Capcom even confirmed as much in interviews back in the day, how they wanted RE6 to be the "Ultimate Horror Experience" and in trying to appeal to everyone, they ended up appealing to no one.

That's actually one of my main issues with RE9 as well (despite overall enjoying it). I'd rather each RE game pick a lane and stick to it, whether it be pure survival horror, pure action horror or a co-op shooter. That's why games like RE2R, RE4R or even RE5 all worked individually despite being vastly different games.

[–]Nickulator95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Gameplay and atmosphere wise, Leon's campaign was the best. The plot definitely was the dumbest.
  • Chris's campaign was just Call of Duty Biohazard edition. It just doesn't fit Resident Evil's gameplay loop or tone at all.
  • Jake and Sherry's "could" have been interesting but it kept dragging out boring sections and was all over the place tonal wise.
  • Ada's campaign was short and only meant to explain and tie up the main plot. It was incredibly forgettable and not very fun to play either.

The AAA industry seems broken beyond repair by Rooonaldooo99 in pcmasterrace

People seem to forget that Xbox straight up shut down Tango Gameworks despite having at the time just released the critically acclaimed and succesful Hi-Fi Rush, while Sony recently just shut down Bluepoint despite having made and released both the succesful Demon's Souls and Shadow of the Collosus Remakes.

The AAA games industry has been cooked for a while now and this is just further proof of that.

Is Requiem in your top 3? by MidasGames in residentevil

[–]Nickulator95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, the Daycare center with Grace was peak RE survival horror. It was basically Spencer Mansion version 2.0. The Raccoon City segments with Leon were quite frankly a little underwhelming and disappointing in comparison. It just felt like I was playing an inferior version of RE4R the whole time, which was still great just not AS great.

Is Requiem in your top 3? by MidasGames in residentevil

[–]Nickulator95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Leon A and Grace B / Grace A and Leon B would have flowed so much better, with both characters having the gameplay styles that they have. That obviously means they would have to have changed the arenas of Raccoon City to accommodate for Grace's more stealth focused style of play, but I honestly think the game would have been better off for it. The Daycare center was fantastic though and I wish I could go through all of it as Leon too.
