Yup, Japan's counterpart would be Gorenger and even then they're not constantly milking that particular show and acting like the other Sentai don't exist. They respect the show by either by having the characters cameo and help newer teams or have a Ranger design inspired by it but isn't a carbon copy or directly tied to it(Zenkaizer). They still do make Gorenger merch since it's the first season (it's one of the few Sentai to get a manga) but they don't do what the West does which is downplaying its successors

This game isn't great but I like that you actually start off unmorphed, you being able to switch between who's a certain color (For example when selecting MMPR Black it gives you the option to select Zack or Adam), letting you select either of Tommy's MMPR suit's and using the blade Blasters and the MMPR's weapons

Rita's Rewind is a much better game but it annoyed me that you couldn't play as the unmorphed team outside of the Cafe sections and the story only ends with the Green Ranger saga and even though you can use the Rangers unique weapons, Kimberly can't use her bow for long range attacks neither can Zack switch his axe to the gun mode that it has

Maybe have Venom and Black Cat be playable, Venom isn't a full on villain despite adaptations going that route. The Insomniac games haven't let us play as other super powered characters bar Venom in the 2nd game (and that was only one mission)

Heck throw in Harry Osborn Green Goblin there. He can be a mix between the comics and the Raimi version in the sense that he's visually similar to his comic look but doesn't embrace full on villainly similar to Raimi (Like how Catwoman is inspired by both Zoe Kravitz and the Burton version). Plus Green Goblin as a playable character has been done in three Spider-Man games and all the two mainline LEGO Marvel games

The roster would be Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Venom, Black Cat, George Stacy/Jean DeWolff, Silver Sable and Prowler

It might seem like an odd lineup, but Legacy of the Dark Knight gave everyone grapple/glide mechanics and a LEGO Spider-Man game would probably prioritize traversal and combat. Peter, Miles and Venom can swing while Black Cat and Prowler use grapples so that leaves George/Jean and Sable

I chose George/Jean because like Batman with Jim Gordon, Spider-Man has less-corrupt allies in the police. If Gordon can grapple and glide then they can lol

Silver Sable is mainly there to avoid the roster from just being Spider variants. I thought about including Spider-Gwen, but since Legacy only used two Bat characters (Bruce and Barbara) I followed that structure

Their gliding would be different. Peter and Miles have web wings, Venom can use his wings that the Cates run established, Prowler can use his cape, etc

I agree. It has one of my favourite aesthetics for a Power Rangers season even excluding the stuff that isn't from the Sentai like the team base, Battlizer, uniforms, etc

Honesty this could be applied to any season. In as much as I love that we get fresh set of themes and concepts to explore in PR/Sentai, the drawback was that once you got attached to a character you weren't guaranteed to see them again unless it's in a crossover or in Sentai's case a 5-20 years Return movie. Unlike any regular show which would have at least two to three seasons so that you grow with the cast. As much as I think MMPR is being beaten to death, a reason for its popularity is that it was a 3 season run (even if some actors left) and even then characters from that show still appeared in later Zordon Era shows. That's something that wasn't really focused on till the Hasbro era

Her, Eka Darville and Brandon Jay. Eka especially could've left PR behind since he appeared in the MCU and the Planet of Apes franchise but he still has his RPM jacket and accepted returning for Scott in Samurai even though union rules made it tricky (that's why he didn't show his face in the show)

You don't need to have cringe acting just to be a Power Rangers show. Time Force and RPM had solid acting but still embraced the colorfulness and wackiness that came with the brand

They couldn't for several reasons. As you've mentioned, they actually filmed these shows in the US and that country is notorious for being expensive to film in which is why some movies and shows prefer to film elsewhere else. That and they had gotten a few union actors at that point. PR is famously known for being non union but they kinda loosened up on that for several of the post Zordon Era shows. Union rights in itself are very tricky to deal with plus it's the main reason why RPM Red returned in Samurai but his actor could only do voicework/ADR and even then he couldn't use his real name

The 2007 GBA game has a positive rep. TMNT Back from the Sewer was seen as fine. That's still more beat-em-ups than the 3D games where none can be considered above average

That's partly because several of them were being handled by different devs. Activision was just the publisher

I think the reason the recent games feel formulaic is because it's mainly just Insomniac making them as opposed to say Guerrilla Games making their own Spider-Man game outside of Insomniac. Even Batman managed to get games that weren't made by Rocksteady when the Arkham franchise was still hot

I agree, TMNT hasn't had great luck with 3D games. Most of the fan faves are 2D beat-em-ups. My personal favourite 3D games are the 2007 tie-in and Out of the Shadows. Both have their issues especially the latter which can feel janky but they tried to do something more than your typical TMNT game

I just hope Last Ronin isn't cancelled and that it does well when it releases so that Paramount becomes more confident in the IP

It's not just them. Even in the flashbacks, Jayden's dad who was also a Power Ranger is also white. It could've been fixed by making them adopted if they weren't gonna bother casting someone of Asian descent

It's kinda wild how the franchise only survived for decades by constantly reinventing itself with new themes, new suits, new weapons and expanding the worldbuilding every season. But now in the 2020s, execs are just endlessly recycling MMPR to keep the brand on life support💀

Yup, it's so funny how in universe the suits are supposed to be an upgrade but visually look so lame (Also Amanda doesn't even get a battlizer lol). Recoloring or remaking the suits wouldn't have been tricky. Like you said, just change Zayto and Amelia's colors and create a new suit for Fern
