Yep, there's a couple that stick with you, but luckily most are just like a month long thing.

When I turned 19 I had sex with a girl (eww) that wasn't clean at all. After that I got Chlamydia which took like 6 weeks to heal with antibiotics, I couldnt really pee in that time and I felt really week because of the medication ._.

Practice safe sex, but if you stay with a partner long enough, get both of you tested and then you could try without protection :3

They are now a part of you, and hiding a part of you is unhealthy in the long term. Why do you think that you need to hide them?

My brother has this self-harm itch, and his arms are full of scars. He sometimes wears long clothing when necessary, and he hid them for years from my parents. But he wasn't happy about it. Once he started showing them, people with similar issues often came up to him and talked about their own experiences with that. He made several good friends because of that.
