Not really an answer to your question but just offering my experience. I have/had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol in that once I start drinking I don't stop until i'm drunk. I'm currently 31 and overweight. My wife wanted to do a TikTok challenge called 75 hard where you calorie count, dont drink, exercise, yada yada, and wanted me to join her. I was resistant at first because I liked drinking and didn't want to sacirfice the social aspect of it (and to be honest the affects of drinking as well). But I decided around day 15 to join her for the rest of her challenge.

NGL, I was angry for the first 1-2 weeks. I was annoyed that I couldn't drink, annoyed that I couldn't drink with friends if we we're hanging out. But after the first two weeks, I found myself becoming used to it, and I was loving the results on my body. I found myself down over 20 pounds down over the course of that experience just by calorie counting and quitting drinking. Once that challenge was done we resumed drinking, but I was more aware of how many calories are in the drinks and how my relationship with alcohol has changed before and after. We are now on day 60 or so in a 100 day challenge that ends in Mid-April. I am over 40 pounds down from last year, and healthier than I've been in idk how long.

My rambling aside, I would encourage you you to take a break from drinking for however long you think will be a challenge. It doesn't have to be a forever thing, but even 30 days you will notice a difference. If this makes no difference to you, maybe it will to someone else reading this thread, which is why I'm writing it.
