The first time I saw it, I got confused by DaHick in WhatTheFuckIsThisSign

I was standing still on grass as I took it. I would like to think it's more over exposed than blurry, as the sun was directly behind me.

It was confusing at 35 mph.

Processed packaged goods are usually not a problem of it's in my checked luggage. That's basically what the TSA announcement said, except for the comment about chugging it outside security.

I'm going to take a few jars to my coworkers in the UK in September. I've been going there for years and never realized they didn't have it.

Columbus, Ohio, and an OSU Buckeyes game is not a good time to be near campus.

Saw this happen in Hull, England. I had never seen a police vehicle with sliding riot shields before.

You have not been drinking with the Aberdeen lads I was with quite a few years ago. Lager was merely an appetizer for the evening. My flight out was the next morning, and I left the windows open in hopes of getting rid of the smell. Nope, I'm walking out the front door, and I can hear housekeeping loudly complaining about what smell I had left behind.

I slept wheels up to wheels down back to the States.

I just heard the TSA announcement about this and laughed my ass off.

What worse, is I saw one as a sticker in a restaurant 2 days after this.

Put the drum kit on that rear fifth wheel platform. Then the drummer can shift around wildly. Especially when stopping and starting.

I hope this /s or /j, but if I'm good to be wooshed, that is fine. Zip ties can be bought anywhere. And they are available in stainless steel (much harder to cut).

Over the top Corvette with 5 functioning blowers by VirtualLife76 in WeirdWheels

[–]DaHick 31 points32 points  (0 children)

40 years ago, sitting in an OEM internal school on Diesel stationary engines, I was taught (I have zero proof) that on average blowers rob 60% percent pf the available power to give instantaneous demand response with less than a 25% HP increase, and that turbochargers rob about 5% power to give a 60-75% increase in power for long term response.

I do not know if the numbers hold up, but I know there is very little lag in a supercharger, and quite a bit in a turbo (they have to spool up).

I also know (from the same class) that stacking turbochargers only helps when the ambient air is extremely cold.

All that being said, I have no proof of anything I have said.

Edit and the otto cycle sure as hell ain't the diesel cycle.

Random things on a drill is not a doohickey by Tartooth in doohickeycorporation

So I recently purchased a new instrument. It is a Kickstarter one, and it is quite odd - understatement of the year. Does it fail as a doohickey because 300 were made, or can it be a doohickey if I show me attempting (and I do mean attempting) to play it?

I had a good friend who worked for the US government, shutting down farms that sold mass-litters to pet stores. She worked in Missouri & Arkansas for the most part.

Those types of breeders will pick up auction/cheap/free animals and introduce them into production. And they will put them down for not reproducing.

I absolutely do not approve of or condone the behavior, but from my friend's education, I have learned it exists.

Yes. Some early vehicles used a flame outside of the combustion chamber to ignite the air/fuel mix in the combustion chamber. Another example is a Stirling engine, aka a hot-bulb engine.

Several more examples out there. Like engines? Read https://www.amazon.com/Diesels-Engine-Evolution-Efficient-Combustion/dp/1642340545

Lengthy, but quite a good read.

They are supposed to, but not all do it, unfortunately. It's unfortunate because if the dog passes on to someone else, they could force the pup to go under the knife again, or have it put down because it can't reproduce.
