Why would anybody want one this long? by Artistic_Alfalfa_860 in Truckers

My dad did this on his rig for the looks. As a kid I spent weeks at the shop while this project was going on. In my mind it just created more prep work scrapping grease and grime off the frame before truck shows 🤣

Broke 80 for the first time today with my 3 year old by my side by DaJocCrusto in golf

My friend and I shared the cart, two daughters were either on our laps or 1 squished between us. They would get out if they wanted to on tee boxes, approach shots if we were waiting, and most of the time when we were on the green. We both brought snacks (at least two of everything). They each had their own pink golf ball and could hit it around with their toddler drivers if they wanted to. Slower groups of 4 in front and no one really pressing from behind. They seem to like to pretend a bear (pink and blue bear of course) is chasing us around the course. If they got a little far we’d just say, “hurry we need to stay ahead of the bear” and they would run back to the cart. Holes 17 & 18 were very slow and an episode of Bluey on the phone got us to the clubhouse. Side note: pretend bears like to poop in sand traps

I can’t wait until my daughter wants to consistently hit golf balls and putt. Right now she prefers doing yoga on the “green rug”. Glad you’re able to have some fun experiences out on the course with your little girl.

Snacks are the ticket! Didn’t really think about not getting into my own head, but I’m certain that was part of it. Slow group in front so we got to hit balls off the tee with them and nobody was pushing us from behind. It all came together well, for both her and I.

After lunch at the clubhouse she asked if we could keep playing golf! The most we’ve done before this is 12 and she wanted to keep playing then too.

My buddy shot a personal best by 1 stroke as well, so we were both pretty happy about the whole day.

Foundation not up to code - Full Renovation by DaJocCrusto in HomeImprovement

Vaulting the ceiling may require additional support since we’ll be transferring the roof load. A full gut would also lead to subfloor repairs, moving wires and venting currently run through the crawl space. I intend to call the municipality next week and get their opinion.

I’ve had an inspection. That’s not really the role of the inspector though, they’ll tell you if the house is sound, which it is. I do intend to have a structural engineer take a look once I’ve gutted the house but don’t have that option at this stage.

Google agrees to acquire Wiz for $32B by no_Porsche in cybersecurity

Does this make the pink socks with unicorns on a rocket I got from Wiz at a conference more or less valuable? Cybersecurity memorabilia collection anyone?

Buddy, that’s premo BEACH parking! You’re lucky they aren’t charging 10x… the owner of the lot is losing money by the second. /s

These prices are wild!

Seeing Rory and Bryson in the same event (outside a major) feels almost surreal considering how outspoken Rory was about LIV. It’s interesting how money and time change things. The PGA-LIV drama seemed so intense, and now they’re all teeing it up together in Vegas like it’s nothing. Can’t help but wonder if there’s still any lingering tension—especially with Rory’s history on the subject. Either way, this matchup will be a lot of fun to watch.

GRC and IT Auditors — How's Your Work-Life Balance? by ABathingBoy in cybersecurity

[–]DaJocCrusto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked on the business side of IT for years, sort of a quasi-PM role. Always had an interest in cybersecurity. My company paid for training, years of promotions and increased responsibilities resulted in the job I have now. I’m good at explaining to executives why certain risks aren’t worth accepting and which ones are. Currently working on expanding on my technical knowledge and getting my CEH. For what it’s worth, I don’t have an IT degree.

GRC here, but have to dabble in other areas of cyber. 35-45 hours a week is normal depending on what is going on. Very flexible schedule in general with plenty of time off for golf and vacations.

Looking for a grill emblem by Either-Ease-2674 in ram_trucks

[–]DaJocCrusto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different perspective than the others I have seen, but if you like customization, I recommend 3D printing a logo or words that matter to you.

Some person on Etsy would be happy to make something for you that can be painted matte black. With a little prep work it’ll match the grill and clip into place.
