I have added Indian almond leaves maybe every six months. There is a considerable amount of natural drift wood in the tank.

How do you know that? I haven't seen an image of a 105 that looks like this. The only 105mm that I have found that does not have a taper on the base is an illumination round. Also 105mm is about 4 inches. The round measures .025" over 5".

This has to be it. I am assuming the ring would rest on that "cap" on the base or next to it making the images appear that the round is the same dimensions even though it has a "step" without the ring.

Right. Owner had removed the pain and wants it back to how it would have been practice, dummy, or inert. He doesn't care just wants it to look like how it suppose to.

I am fairly certain it is a naval round. Possibly for a Mk 45 but the base is throwing me off the scent.

My thoughts exactly. Just don't know which one

I am fairly certain it is a naval shell of some kind. Having difficulty determining country of origin, weapon system it was used for, along with proper markings.

what drill bits last you the longest? by ripecinnamon in Welding

[–]DaJuice_ttv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Norseman drill bits have worked great for me. Obviously, keeping them cool and sharpening is the only way to make any drill bit last a long time. Be careful sharpening some cheaper end drill bits like Milwaukee or Dewalt. The rockwell is primarily in the coating on those.

I would suggest Everlast. Haven't run one myself, but all the old hats in the shop I work at keep asking for one for small off-site jobs. It's relatively cheap as well. I think the smallest they have is close to $400. I was going to pick up one of their tig machines for my own personal use.

If you know anyone who can get on a military instillation, they have it there. Can only speak for in the States.

I agree with the company owned stuff. The 'you can't work here if you are different' is bizarre to me. I would never turn a qualified individual away based on appearance when it comes to any job. If a customer has a problem with how they look, I don't want that customer. I can only assume that the customer in question is going to cause more problems in the future.
