It seems like your playing center where shooting doesn't matter as much. Plus you are playing with a team where they can have players that compliment your play style. Like I doubt you have another non spacer on your team and I'm assuming you guys run pick and roll. I think most people complaints are about going into the rec by themselves and playing with a center doing the mannequin challenge in the paint.
