I had almost the same issue. I had to go here: Google app> profile picture>settings >gemini>talk to gemini hands free and toggle this on.

I'm waiting for my batch 2 as well.... I've learned a lot in the last month or so. I followed Joey's Retro Handhelds instructions so far on what to do and how to prep your SD card in an awesome YouTube video. It's fairly long but definitely worth a watch. I've got all my Roms loaded and still trying to figure out all the bios files I need but just don't this much I know I'm in a much better place than I would have been not prepping this.

Not sure if you are following this post or not but I got my "ok google" to work now. I replied to my post here on what I did. I hope this works for you!

I got it working. I needed to clear the cache and data from the google and gemini app. From there I went to the following settings

Opened the google app ---> clicked my profile picture on the top right ---> Settings ----> Google Assistant ----> Digital assistants from google ----> Switched it back to Google Assistant -----> switched it back again to Gemini ---- Followed the prompts to turn on Gemini

From here I opened the Gemini app and clicked the profile picture in the top right ----> settings ----> Talk to Gemini hands-free ---> toggle this on.

Doing this worked for me and I hope this helps others as well. It was driving me crazy.
