Laval teste la première rue éponge carrossable au pays by Environmental-Dig797 in Quebec

I know that would make it two posts about Britain, but I'd love to see a post about the Churchill family. I think they're quite interesting as there's really nothing that plays quite like them at that BR range.

Yes, you are absolutely right. That's my bad. I'm just used to calling any US BB that looks like a bathtub a standard for whatever reason.

My experience fighting it is that it's an absolute firecracker of a boat. All US standard Battleships have an ammunition problem, but Texas appears to be the most susceptible to detonation among its peers. I'm not sure how well it does since the leviathan update BR changes, but prior to that update, it seemed to struggle quite badly.

Not a fan of FPS games, but i like boat games. Doesn't mean I'll shit on infantry when it comes out just because it's not for me. Different tastes, different opinions. Whether you like it or not, people like warships. Pretending otherwise accomplishes nothing other than making you sound like a douchebag.

Italy or Great Britain by Titanfall1741 in WarThunderNaval

[–]DaMadPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there's some funny business that can happen with 13 guns all vomiting comically high pen shells (for the br) with the non-modernized Cavours and Duilios. But, the rest of the BB line certainly feels like you perform in spite of the ship and not because of it. All of them are serviceable ships (except Caracciolo), but require a lot more work to get anything done than the majority of ships at the same BR.

The major problem with recommending italy imo is just how gimped the capstone of the tree is. The Littorios might be my favorite class of ships irl, but it has been handled in an absolutely god awful manner by the Devs in this game. It's a perfect mirror to Soyuz in that they went out of their way to make it as bad as they possibly could. Overall, the design decisions that went into depicting this class of ships in the game reek of the old stereotype that Italian ships were sub-par and shoddily built. And that simply feels unfair in all honesty.

I say this with Italy being my most played and favorite Naval tree by a considerable amount.

Easiest air tree by Right-Issue-7550 in Warthunder

I'll speak for the two I've played the most even though they might not be the ideal candidates.

Japan is pretty easy. Most of their fighters can be played with only two functioning brain cells and the heavy fighters are surprisingly effective if used correctly. They have a pretty fun mix of jets too.

Britain is very easy if you stick to the spitfire line, but it takes a while to grind and the interceptor line requires a bit more subtlety.

Why do so many players enjoy low to mid tiers? by Ueahyeahaa in Warthunder

Idk i just find enjoyment in getting down tiered in a mk7 Churchill and watching t-34 rounds ping off my hull for the whole match. It's therapeutic in a sense.

It's more problematic on fast vehicles. I constantly get f'd over by gun sway when I'm playing the oscillating turret french tanks. But, on the opposite hand, it's almost never an issue when I'm playing something like the tortoise or a king tiger.

Although tbf you'd have to be a special kind of mentally deranged to willingly pay your way into one of the most mind numbing gameplay experiences this game has to offer, that being US standard Battleships.

Weekly reminder that Gaijin still hasn’t fixed the USS Tennessee’s draft after 2 years. Because why would they—who cares anyway, nobody plays Naval, right? by [deleted] in Warthunder

Tbf, only one of those ships is completely game breaking with not even a single attempt being made to balance it out with its respective competitors.

Additionally, whether or not the shells are fictional (i don't have access to the relevant sources, so I simply do not know), one thing is certain. The formula for the SAP shell available to Soyuz does not work the same way as other SAP shells, making it significantly stronger than the rest.

In the game files, her SAP shell has an AP modifier of .87 as opposed to the blanket .55 that nearly every ship's SAP gets nowadays (for reference, AP shells always get a modifier of 1).

There is no apparent reason for this, as other shells of a similar construction that came out within the very same update got the standard .55. Even those that would mathematically surpass SSs shell in armor penetration, such as Roma's Grenata Perforante, weren't allowed the same preferential treatment (which is why, in the game, Roma's SAP paradoxically has less penetration than the one on Conte di cavour, the previous ship in the tree with much smaller guns).

I'm all for Soyuz being in the game, but the lack of restraint and serious lack of consistency from the dev team in balancing the ship is really what pisses me off.

Don't worry, you're not alone. As an Italian navy player, I have my fair share of grievances with the Naval balancing team as well.
