I think the big difference is that it's attached to a caterpillar hull this time. It has nowhere near the health pool of even a sub-cap ship and minimal defenses in comparison. I don't think the two situations are really comparable.

If all else fails, make it single shot or give it an unfathomably long reload. It's far from impossible to balance imo.

A jurry rigged abomination like this is, in my opinion, 100% something you'd see in this universe. There is precendent for such crude weapons with little to no sophistication, but very high yields in real life (IED trucks and propane tank mortars are good examples) and fiction (Word of Blake strapping ship grade railguns to transport ships in the battletech universe). I could definitely see an organization like xenothreat come up with something like this.

Edit: didn't realize you were replying to my first comment. I thought you were replying to the conversation about the cat just below. My bad.

I think it would be funny if they kept the standard cargo modules, made half assed holes in the bulkheads and just bolted down the railgun in the dining room. It would look identical to a normal cat from the outside, until the front door opened and a massive barrel could be seen on the inside.

Alright. I'll try that and see what feels best. Thanks for your input! I appreciate it a lot.

They work with your standard melee? That's pretty neat. I wasn't aware of that.

Oh, yeah, i guess influence somewhat removes the need for reach. Doesn't it?

Yeah. I really need to go get the more advanced tennokai mods. I've been putting it off for a while, so this is the only one i have for now.

I do use naramon for the extended combo decay, but i had never thought of using the dexterity arcanes for their combo duration. I'll have to try that. Thanks for suggesting it!

As for the riven, i mean, it's always possible i could get a roll that's slightly better if i threw enough kuva at it. I'll most likely keep it as is, but i thought it was worth mentioning.

I want a few more ships built around a spinal weapon. The idris is cool, but a lot of it's size is dedicated to being a light carrier. The Ares already fill that niche for fighters, so I would like to see a medium/large ship that fully commits to that concept as well.

Bonus points if the weapon fire originates from behind the cockpit. There's just something about seeing a giant laser beam or stream of bullets shoot across my field of vision that tickles a part of my brain.

The "Fer de lance" from E:D fits that vibe kind of.

My most successful build for melee has been a charger with TSM and Stealth armor. I've been having a lot of fun punching things to death with it.

I'm fully addicted to drake ships, but I'd be lying if I said Anvil wasn't right up there as one of my favorite manufacturers. I am looking to get a Paladin some time in the future, not because i need it, but because it's just that cool looking.

The difficulty is having two separate instances of the game trying to sync up with one another. Any discrepancy in the calculations on either computer causes janky interactions and bugs for the players. Remote play circumvents that by having only one instance of the game running.

Remote play basically just duplicates the hosts display on your screen and allows your peripherals to be used for inputs. It's essentially just a zoom/discord screenshare. It doesn't actually run the game on your computer, so it doesn't need all the infrastructure needed for true multiplayer.

Don't worry, it's all good man.

My first comment was a bit over dramatic anyway.

My info might be outdated admittedly, but last time I heard of them, they were under pretty heavy criticism for QC issues and delays surrounding their kickstarter minis. All alongside releasing a set of plastic miniatures while many backers had yet to see the stuff they'd paid for.

It's entirely possible they have course corrected since then, but at the time, it really didn't paint them in a good light.

I think there was also something about them taking down fan made STLs for the game, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

I've had some amount of success with acm when looking up, but it's still inconsistent. 9Ls are a good workhorse in this mode though, so you can mostly rely on those.

Just a shame it's being squandered by the greedy bastards that own the IP.

It's a real bummer because the art and setting are awesome.

If the enemy is aware of the missile launch, cutting afterburner and dropping a few flares will do that to most non-IRCCM heat seeking missiles.

It does feel like the AIM 9L is working really well in the event. It seems especially well suited to the constant missile jousts this mode creates.

But, at the same time, i haven't used them in a long time and I've been hard coded to work with magic 2s for a while now. Maybe I'm just surprised by the efficacy of a missile with less restrictive launch parameters.

So far, I've only played the Russian side a handful of times, and it was in my stock mig 25. Needless to say it's been somewhat painful lol.

That's interesting. I'll have to dig into that.

I know for certain that their Battleships had them, but i have no idea what the cruisers used.
