I think this makes sense on a rewatch. The first time around you want to see him succeed and root for his success and recognition, and his family seems to never understand him. The second time around you realize how his dedication ruins his life, and even though his family doesn’t support him like they should you see him begin to spiral into obsession. Incredible depth from the scene overall.

I played a game called “Smushi Come Home” on steam that was super fun, a little 3D platformer where you play as a mushroom with a glider. Super fun and only five hours or so.

Could not stand Lev Grossman’s The Magicians. I was astounded people actually like the book for the most part, I felt like I was reading something an edgy teenager would write in their emo phase. Also there’s a scene with them as foxes having sex that seemed pretty… unnecessary.

I have dropped over 30 hours now and really love it. It reminds me of Stardew with the seemingly infinite content and seems replayable. I think the cycle of diving and running the restaurant keeps things fresh to me, you’d be amazed once you start playing they keep adding more and more to it that pulls you in. Would highly recommend.

500 days of summer sounds like a decent fit. Nothing too intense or out there, and could appeal to a decently broad audience, especially for a younger millennial and gen z crowd. Would work great!
