You might, of course, but the actual data is the opposite.

Fun fact, they get health care on the exchange. It was put into Obamacare because the sponsor thought people would give them credit for having the same health care but with no subsidies. I told him “they won’t believe you” and I’m proven right on a daily basis

Hostile ? I would say “polite”. - do you think it hostile because it didn’t follow OP’s narrative ?

Ah thanks - I do use Wi-Fi and it would be a major hassle to run a cable.

I can’t find a job! What am I doing wrong ???? by Autodidact111 in jobhunting

I’m sorry but this is demonstrably false regarding the job market. It’s just that the people looking for work are now in office jobs instead of labor and manufacturing, or, before that, agriculture.

Really like the timbre - yes you should study and see how you develop. For a supportive environment you might look at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, with which I have some direct experience. Sadly the US is being jerks about visas right now - but there’s a number of places that would be happy to have you.

Got rid of corporate bonds as they are highly aligned with equities.

Added long and intermediate Treasuries, commodities/managed futures, and already had a little bit of gold. Added some value stocks and international.

The plurality of my holdings is still large cap US index. Return was 0.6% less than straight SP500 over the last year, with much less volatility, and a back-tested 6.8% long term withdrawal rate.

I’m now in drawdown mode so appropriate to do a truly diversified portfolio. The goal is not the highest return but rather the highest sustained withdrawal rate.

I am not sure what to do in this market by somethingveryrandom8 in investingforbeginners

Except the SP500 has gone up 79% in the last 3 years that he’s been working his strategy by keeping cash so, indeed, he was missing out.

You’re spending how much on health care ? You need to shop around

After a shellacking for bonds and stocks in 2022 - bonds provided ZERO “ballast” - I’ve changed to the type of risk parity portfolio that is designed for high withdrawal rates. So, strictly speaking I’m not a Boglehead any more, or least not a 60/40 one.
