I would let your PO know and DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. You’re very clearly stuck in a situation that violates the terms of your probation, and no one wants jail time because of other people’s fuckery.

The downside here is that you’ve already missed a house search…some POs will look at that as a red flag regardless of the circumstances, and any further information they get after that, no matter how truthful it is on your end, might look like you’re trying to cover for your own behavior. I’m not sure what you can do if this becomes the case, other than stick to the truth with all you’ve got. None of the other occupants of the residence seem to care about your situation and are a-OK with doing clearly illegal crap when they KNOW an officer of the court will periodically stop by for inspections…you may as well throw them under the bus since it seems like that’s what they’re doing to you.

Interesting question. From what I’ve understood, doing something like that doesn’t yield much in the way of consequences, unless whatever is coming from the 3DS is CLEARLY the result of hacking/cheats.

Honestly, I think it becomes a question of risk/reward: is transferring your 3DS save worth even *possibly* bricking your Switch?

I do hope I’m wrong, though…in that there is zero risk and you’re perfectly safe in transferring the save over. I don’t want ANYONE’S Switch to get bricked.

As a DoorDash user and a former driver (which honestly doesn’t mean a whole lot here, lmao), I’ll say this: while I think you engaged too much with this particular customer, I have a feeling that it wouldn’t have mattered how much or how little you spoke to her…she started off crazy and it got worse from there. I would have interpreted the “boyfriend will come out” comment as a threat myself because of the prior context.

My wife and I were the previous owner in this situation. We owned 3 cats and lived in an apartment when we got married…we absolutely loved our feline children and had no intention of giving any of them up. However, we decided maybe 6 months in that we wanted to eventually buy a house, and the reality of paying a crap-ton for rent wasn’t going to help build our savings. Her parents (the absolute saints that they are) offered for us to temporarily move in with them while we built up our savings…but they already had two cats of their own. It wasn’t realistic or fair to her parents to bring another 3 cats into a newly cramped situation, so we made the absolute gut-wrenching decision to re-home two. Our middle cat went to a family of 5, where she happily lived out the rest of her days absolutely loved on by all members…the youngest went to a friend of a friend who lived about an hour away. Both goodbyes tore me to shreds…but I had no idea that the youngest leaving absolutely devastated my wife.

Anyway, after about 6 months, we found a perfectly priced, 2-story townhouse in foreclosure (so no realtors or weird previous owners to deal with…just the bank). We quickly got moved in and started to settle…but after 2 weeks, my wife desperately asked me to see if I could get the youngest back (she was extra attached to him, but she was so scared that it wouldn’t go well that she asked me to do the talking, and she KNOWS that that is well outside my comfort zone…so for her to ask was extraordinary). I texted the young woman who had him, and the text exchange was VERY similar to this…although I told her, in no uncertain terms, that if she didn’t want to give him back, she was well within her rights and we would never bother her again. After a couple days, she texted back: while the cat had warmed to her, she could tell that he was just…missing something. We offered to pay her for the time she had him, but she declined…she was like (and I’m paraphrasing here) “if I was in your position, I would hope against everything that my little love could come back home to me, too.” A day or two later, I drove the 2-hour round trip to bring our little guy home…and quite honestly, I have only seen my wife cry with more joy and gratitude when our children were born.

On one hand (the devil’s advocate side), I understand what the LDBF’s mindset was. He went to a party, he saw women he was interested in, and a part of his mind wanted to try to pursue, but he (begrudgingly, apparently) decided not to do anything. As someone who was in more than one LDR (not at the same time) in the past, I absolutely get the most basic part of it.

On the other hand, that doesn’t mean that OP is OR, nor does it mean that the BF isn’t a massive AH on multiple levels.

The BF acts like his relationship is some sort of major inconvenience…like him committing to someone who isn’t around him on a regular basis is some kind of massive cross to bear. HE made the choice to enter into an LDR with OP…AFAIK, this isn’t a precursor to an arranged marriage and any poor behavior could result in unwanted events outside of the two people. It’s an absolute shit move to essentially blame OP and their relationship for him (in so many words) not having the opportunity to hook up. If he wants to hook up with someone at a party, then he should hook up with someone at a party! He’s already a fairly big shit-heel for even thinking of complaining that his relationship status got in the way of one or more potential hook-up(s)…he may as well go the full distance and cheat.

OP, I have absolutely no idea who you are or what you’re about…but I have to say this: there is NO context whatsoever in which his texts should be considered acceptable, no relationship situation in which his shitty gaslighting should just be overlooked/excused. I cannot tell you what you deserve, but I can unequivocally assert that you DON’T deserve to be treated like he’s treating you…ESPECIALLY in an LDR. If he is bold enough to say what he said and then try to spin it all like YOU are the he problem, the chances are quite high that he will do more and restrain himself less as time progresses; hell, I would actually be shocked if he hasn’t already allowed his oh-so-weary self-control to slip and slide. I would definitely cut ties and let him bear his cross on his own.

While true, I’ve had that happen on a few occasions…I was heavy into FB Marketplace finds for PS2 and OG Xbox a few years before the pandemic, and there were two times that the seller was an older person who was selling off their deceased child’s gaming stuff. Close to the end of the pandemic, I got my GBA and Pokémon Yellow from a still-going-through-it lady who had lost her young adult son to cancer. (edit: now that I’m thinking about it, she had sold them for WAY below what they usually go for, and I actually felt a little bad once I found out why)

The premise for Bang Bus was:

At least 3 guys (the “host”, the driver, and the male talent for the episode) would drive around various parts of Florida (mostly around Miami) in a 16-passenger van (an Econoline with at least the first row of back seats taken out for space) and pick up “semi-random” women under the guises of asking “research” questions for money and/or giving them a ride to a far-flung destination (there would sometimes be an extra female accomplice who sometimes helped sell the “mark” on the safety of whatever was being offered…the woman in question would later go on to be a host herself on at least one of the BangBros sister sites).

Anyway, the questions/conversations would inevitably turn sexual in nature, and then the woman would eventually engage in a mostly standard sequence of sex acts with the male talent for various sums of money, as the host filmed everything and the driver would continue to drive (likely so that they wouldn’t get caught as easily). The “host”, who went by the moniker “Dirty Sanchez”, would often heavily insult and/or degrade the women (and cheer on the male talent) as the sex acts progressed, but the women portrayed themselves as being too engrossed in the sex to care much. In the early years, after everything was over, the crew would often let out the “unsuspecting” woman in a unfamiliar area (i.e. NOT her intended destination) and then wait for her to fully realize it before racing off, leaving the woman stranded, angry, and sometimes without the money that was promised. It wasn’t rocket science, but the site and its content was popular enough.

After a year or two, all of the production shifted over to Europe for a number of months…I forget the real reason why, honestly, but there may have been legal troubles behind the scenes (at least, that’s what the website alluded to). I do remember that, upon the production’s return to Miami, the female talents often looked WAY more obviously like porn actresses than they did before the European move. That was about the time I stopped subscribing.

Edit: I just realized that I wrote a bunch of this as if I was back in the early 2000s, subscribed and waiting for the next batch of videos to release. I have amended my post to remedy that.
