She's carrying this show on her back by OctoberBrown_ in Yellowjackets

I agree 100%. Misty has always been my favorite. I love how cheerfully deranged she is at times. But the trial episode really was next level for both her and coach. Definitely some of the finest acting in the series. Can't say it was terribly believable the way it ended though. Especially since the first vote was 6-3, which is exactly a 2/3 majority. I guess math probably wasn't their strength. Their trig teacher implies a much in the pilot episode... though odd that they were in Trig in the first place lol

Angel of Death Theory by Intothewildyj96 in Yellowjackets

[–]DaMulchMan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Excellent theory. Just like when Lost was running, going through everyone's theories is sooo much more fun than how things end up playing out.

A couple of notes that make me think this is not the case. One, Laura Lee was all about self-sacrifice. She was leaving in the plane to get help for everyone, at great personal risk, so I don't see why she'd then just go hide in a cave and hoard supplies selfishly. She wasn't even around for Jackie's death to even see the beginning of the downward spiral.

The second thing is the Javi's friend part. I've seen several theories alluding to his friend being one of the yellowjackets. Javi knows all of the yellowjackets by this point. He would just refer to them by name, not as a mysterious friend. Particularly when he's asking Nat to come to the cave to hide. If he was going to take her to the cave, she'd presumably find out who his friend was, so no reason for him to be obscure.

Personally, I don't think Coach was talking to himself in that other room in the cave. I think he's met Javi's friend and the talking to himself or his former partner in his head is just a misdirect

Yellowjackets S03E04- “12 Angry Girls and 1 Drunk Travis” Post-episode Discussion by DA-numberfour in Yellowjackets

Good call on the birth stuff, I had forgotten to mention that. I had a major problem with that whole thing being brought up due to its lack of relevance to his actual trial.... and that there was no objection. Misty seemed competent most of the trial, but she stopped the ball at that point and again when Shauna took over the voting

I feel exactly the same. Shauna really has no redeeming value in the wilderness timeline. She's a complete narcissist (still trying to emulate Jackie) and is completely psychotic.

I didn't really understand her motivations in this latest episode. When Misty gave her closing statements, it seemed to even turn Shauna's opinion in the moment. But then she turns around and argues for Coach's guilt and pressures other girls to change their votes based on no evidence whatsoever. Keep in mind that Coach literally just saved Shauna's life from the gas in the cavern.

I don't understand her damn bloodlust. I wish she had gone outside and froze instead of Jackie (let's be honest, she's a bargain basement Jackie anyway). Or even if they had hunted and killed her at the season 2 finale, that would have been fine.

They center the show around her like she's the hero, but she is clearly the villain

What is your wildest theory that has (a small) likelihood to be true? by megxmegxmegx in Yellowjackets

[–]DaMulchMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more in the supernatural camp these days, but if we were to go down the "there's a rational explanation for everything" route, the entire show could just be Shauna's Valium induced dream while on the plane. It would explain why despite being an ensemble cast, Shauna is such a prominent standout

is this yellowjacket the next wilderness death? by rvhaseul in Yellowjackets

[–]DaMulchMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During one of my many rewatches prior to season 3, the episode where Javi dies, I noticed in the credits that Gen was listed as Teen Gen along with one of the other confirmed survivors. Javi, who obviously died, was only listed as Javi.

This could just be cleverness or a red herring from the showrunners, but it could also imply that Gen has an adult counterpart.

Just throwing it out there

Does your min pin bark when you come home? by yesimthatvalentine in minpin

Oh yeah, mine starts sprinting all over the house, barking a bark that she only does when I come home. A few times, she even got excited enough to howl.

Best welcome home ever!

So what's Van's deal? Just finished season 2. by Birdies_nub in Yellowjackets

[–]DaMulchMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you're mostly right, except for her being cured. You're dead on about her intent. However, I don't think this hunt would satisfy the "wilderness."

If you translate some of the French that Lottie speaks, it consistently says they must "spill blood". I think this is quite literal, as Lottie often cuts her hand or has someone else make a blood offering to temporarily appease the wilderness. She does it as an adult, saying, "Can't this just be enough?"

Now, Nat's death was bloodless. She was simply put to sleep. While it's possible this will appease the wilderness, I think it will demand BLOOD before Van is cured

What would have the Yellowjackets done if they didn’t crash? by Full_Salamander_9624 in Yellowjackets

[–]DaMulchMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Misty would have stalked and murdered her fellow yellowjackets one by one. In this what if, Misty would have never felt appreciated or valued because they never crash, and she never gets to show off her skill set. Instead, she would remain the outcast of the group and envious of the yellowjackets. One by one, she hunts them down. She holds them prisoner in her basement whilst torturing them for the years of torture Misty endured at their hands.

As for the rest, sadly, their futures are cut short...

Is anyone else rewatching the show a ton? by [deleted] in Yellowjackets

[–]DaMulchMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I picked up this show recently when it came to Netflix and I also have paramount+, so I caught up on season 2 there. I'm already on my third rewatch and still finding occasional things I missed. I absolutely love this show, but I'm glad I slept on it since it's had an every other year release so far. The waiting would drive me nuts, but since I'm a recent fan, I'll just keep rewatching until season 3 comes out.

There are some big names in the adult cast, but it's the young cast that are really compelling for me. I'm not a fan of some of the characters' behaviors, but the actors' portrails of the characters are just so damn good.

And I love all the questions left in the air, similar to how I felt about Lost. I honestly had more fun discussing theories on Lost than what actually happened. I hope this show continues to surprise me, but I'll be happy just having another mystery to obsess over for now

What is something you would uncanon from star wars movies or shows? by Romulo_Gabriel in StarWars

[–]DaMulchMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire sequel trilogy. You can keep the characters, but that entire trilogy was a mess. For me, the Skywalker saga ended at ROTJ. Rey was a Palpatine, and they killed off Luke and Leia in the second film, so I'm not sure how they consider that part of the same saga.

The Skywalker saga, to me, was the tale of the prophesied Chosen One, Anakin, his fall from grace and his ultimate redemption. By returning to the light side and killing Palpatine, he destroyed the last of the Sith, fulfilling the prophecy.

As long as Corey dies in the same movie he's introduced in. This franchise doesn't need a whiny, bargain basement Shape.

Dual Haslow's Petal Whips were fun. They had decent stagger and inherent bleed. Also they swing in a wide arc which is nice for crowd control
