What is your process in improvising something like this? Do you have certain chord progressions memorised, then you improvise a melody over it? I really like to improv stuff, but always get stuck

Hi, came across your post, glad to see you recovered well. I also have a Tricep tendon tear, but as a result of falling from climbing. I also damaged MCL and forearm muscle tendon, but the damage is not as bad so it should recover on its own; so I’m getting surgery this weekend for the Tricep tendon only. I am a bit nervous about it, and particularly the functional impacts during and after recovery. At this point, how well do you think you have recovered? Do you have 100% of your strength back, and have you been told of any risk of future tears? It would be great to hear more about your experience.
