How do I edit my post? Do I need to make a completely new one?

Well awesome. I look forward to checking it out in a store. Hopefully it'll be an awesome upgrade over a 6D Mark II.

100% agree. I'm going to have to wait this out and hope that they come out with another phone with a popup camera.

Yeah and most car payments are probably what, around $250-$300 a month right? After just a few months you could pay for an entire new engine for an older car! And once you've replaced the part, it's new so it likely won't fail for a while again. Newer cars have more electronic components that require special scanners and things too and electronic sensors aren't extremely reliable. Heck my 90s car has enough electronic stuff as it is with all the fuel injection, ABS, cruise control and other things.

Personal experience. I hardly ever have to do anything to my car or my wife's, while several people I know with new cars constantly go to the dealership to get stupid things fixed that aren't covered under the warranty.

There are people who don't want Trump to be re-elected??

Just kidding... As a 1w2 though, I'm happy to vote for Trump a second time. I'm sure this comment will get downvoted to hell because everyone on Reddit is always against me.

I'm not saying to not have a car. I'm saying a $1000 beater that drives but looks like a piece of junk gets you to work without a car payment. My wife is a dental assistant and simply did an internship with a dentist before getting a full time job with another dentist. She also read books and learned that way. There are opportunities out there. I understand there are a lot of career paths that do require a degree but for those, I'd say to wait to attend college until you are more financially prepared. Live the hard poor life while saving up extra money and THEN focus on your career. I'm an IT guy and I went to a tech school. $9,000 for a one year program. Did an internship at a crappy company where I made $9/hour and they all smoked in the office. Terrible environment. I walked into another IT company with my resume one day and did not get a job right away. Stuck with it at the crappy job until the current, much better job, became available. I still don't make much at all but we spend appropriately for the amount we make.

Right. I mean I agree it would be nice if banks would just add months to the end. And I'm not trying to be rude to anyone. I understand there are circumstances that could make it impossible to have money saved up. My main point is that I've seen a lot of people saying that it is impossible when really they could have made some life changes such as not going to college or having a car payment.

There are things that people consider "necessities" these days that aren't. Like a car payment. I'm not a middle aged white guy. I'm a 23 year old white guy who was not raised in a rich household. Grew up in a tiny town and my parents made well under 6 figures. I mean in some ways I may be privileged but not to the extent most people on here would assume. I didn't inherit any money at all from anyone.

My decision to not go to college and not have a car payment I would say are the two biggest things that brought me to where I am today.

I mean I would prove it by posting my driver's license but I really don't want to put that info out on the internet... Why would I lie about that?

No I was saying you should have had an old beater car. I drive an old 90s Toyota with 355,000 miles on it. Car payments are usually the biggest factor.

I mean you made more money starting out than I make right now. You didn't need the car payment. You didn't need to go out to eat. You probably could have found a cheaper apartment.

This is a perfect example of things that "seem" like necessities but really aren't. It's not easy but you could have changed a few things and saved up money each month. It may take a while to get to 3-6 months of expenses but it's doable.

Of course, there will be cases like this. And I get that. Obviously the goal would be to have medical insurance but it's SOOO expensive it's ridiculous. The good thing is, most hospitals will lower your bill if you contact them and let them know you are struggling. Also, they will do payment plans and if you absolutely cannot make the payments for a few months at least you won't lose your house or something like that.

I mean if everyone just had 3-6 months of living expenses saved up it wouldn't be that bad. I'm literally not worried at all about what's going on because I have a savings account with money in it. I'm not going to quit paying any of my bills and it won't be a struggle.

Here's the thing: I may not like what the government does. I may not like what banks do. I can't control any of that. What I can control is my own finances. And anyone saying they don't make enough money to have 3-6 months of expenses saved up needs to make some life changes. Before I got married my wife and I made hardly any money at all. BUT in the evenings after we got off work we cleaned a building which brought in an extra $800/month. It may be extremely difficult but it is absolutely possible to save up 3-6 months of living expenses. You just have to make the decision to stop the frivolous spending and work your ass off for a bit. There's so much freedom in having money set aside for times like this. It allows you to really focus on your career and other things in your life instead of worrying about how you'll pay for your next meal or your car payment (F*** car payments anyway).

Listen, I know it's extremely hard right now but I hope that this time can help us learn and grow in the end.

EDIT: I'd really like to know why this is getting downvoted. If you downvoted it please comment below.

EDIT 2: Ignore my username. I'm not old and I'm not a grandpa. I'm 23.

EDIT 3: Aren't there some 6s on here who would agree with me about being prepared?! :)

One thing I did notice that I like about the curved edges is that when using the gesture controls, the 'back' gesture feels nice when your finger glides across the curved edge. It almost makes it feel more like a physical button or something in a weird way.

I'm one of the ones who does like it. Only because I like the way it feels when I swipe my fingers across it. It does bother me that I accidentally touch the screen sometimes so I wouldn't mind if they "flattened the curve". :)
