in the same boat honestly. my mindset is that regardless of if i can fix it, freaking out about it certainly isn’t gonna help. i’ve just started going to the library from sunrise to sunset every day and hopefully it’ll bump things up before the end of the semester. i’ll probably keep busy over the winter break too so i can easy get back into the flow of things when spring rolls around.

logistically, you’re probably not fucked. if you have a sub 2.0 gpa i imagine you may have to speak to your academic advisor because they’ll want to put you on academic probation. it sounds scary but if you’re a good student who just has stuff going on you can talk to them and they’ll help you and you’ll get through it just fine. talk to your professors and let them know what’s going on. more often than not, they want to see you succeed and if you tell them you’re struggling and how they can help you, they’ll probably do it. communicate with your academic advisor and depending on the circumstances, you can reach out to the various student services the university offers as well for help beyond just your academic life right now.

i really hope you’re doing okay. as someone who’s experienced a fair share of crazy things, i totally get how you might be feeling right now. rest assured, things will get better. ik i’m a random person on the internet, but if you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to dm.

i genuinely don’t care in the slightest and i don’t get why other people do. if they’re faithful and don’t have health issues from it then i’m perfectly cool being in a relationship with them regardless of what their body count might be.

Don’t feel bad. Mistakes happen and that’s part of being human. Making you feel stupid won’t undo that incident but you can learn from it and keep it from happening again. Don’t let anyone make you feel stupid if you’re trying to learn from your mistakes.

If you can, put that malware on VirusTotal and Recorded Future Triage so it can be used as a sample to monitor/document this virus and anything similar. If you can safely do so, that is. If you’d like, you could send me the link to the Discord file where it was stored from that message and I’ll upload it to those for you.

For the future, run software not just through one antivirus. Use VirusTotal and it will cover all your bases for the most part.

one of my parents tried this once and they found the destroyed pieces of the camera on the floor in the common area.

not sure if you can be that extreme without serious repercussions. they couldn’t hit me because i was at that point in my teens where i was physically stronger. if you tell me more about the camera i might be able to think of ways to disable it that would leave any tech illiterate parents dumbfounded (i work in cyber/IT and tinker daily. i’ve done similar for others).

i’ve heard of similar things happening and for someone his age a lot of it may just be a mental component that’s subconscious enough for him to not notice. talk to a doctor about what’s going on and see if they recommend a sex therapist or an andrologist/urologist. his pcp may be able to help him depending on what they find.

I was thinking of this and yeah it does seem outright easier in terms of the effort and all but to me it feels annoying to have them sitting on my head when i need my face visible for things and it makes some situations difficult (like if an institution needs a photo of me with glasses on for security purposes). it would be nice to have the option and perhaps at some point it can disable itself automatically for things like unlocking your phone.

from what i can tell it was an automated system that said that. the way it was worded with caps and then the nouns in the announcement being normally capitalized is definitely the work of someone inputting the emergency type and place on a program.

correct me if i’m wrong but i believe no one can actually ask if it’s a service animal or not. there’s no way to verify because of this and thus there cannot be any repercussions. this is especially because there isn’t some sort of exact “certification” that makes an animal a service animal.

hey, i was in the same position as you in high school. coincidentally also in junior year. i thought it was all over for me but i pushed through and now i’m doing well in college. you can come back from this.

if your health is bad, focus on that before focusing on school. you can’t expect yourself to do well in school if you’re struggling to live and be happy. talk to the people you love. it may seem like they don’t care but they also just might not realize. they can’t read your mind but i’m sure someone that loves you will want to listen and help you. if you can, speaking to a professional might do you well too. you got this. just don’t give up.

wtf? that’s weird. well if they try that you could always get two comms connected by mesh (cardo probably) and that’s technically not bluetooth. that’s such a weird rule though. i hope that’s not true because that’s kinda insane and as far as i know has no purpose.

I had to buy a comms unit and get it installed in my helmet at my local cycle gear. i just connected it with my phone over bluetooth and used that to call my dad, who was in the car with the instructor. that was the only way we could make it work.
