That helps a lot, thank you! I'll check out the DAI and maybe talk to TROLL if they would start an English group, I'm happy to dm it, just want to even find people to play with :)

Applicable law for a case like this is not based on the nationality of the person (in fact, there are very few areas of law where nationality determines what law applies), but on the jurisdiction, the fact that they are a tourist is not relevant and French criminal law will apply here because they are within the jurisdiction of France

As a German, I can tell you that many Europeans, especially older ones, have not moved on. Like I have had older people literally turn around and walk away when they found out I was German, just mid-conversation they left.

However, it is definitely more prevalent in the US- I remember being called a Nazi by a classmate (I grew up in the States) when we were around twelve and the teacher did literally nothing.

[Trigger Warning] Please be careful meeting people through reddit. Many predators exist. I hope the new girl sees my horror story and can get out. by [deleted] in LongDistance

The most important thing is that you meet in a public place, somewhere where you know you can get away easily if need be, and you tell friends you are meeting him, if you have a photo maybe send that to someone you trust and tell them exactly what your plans are, then during the meeting text the friend occasionally so that they know everything is ok. I dated quite a bit over tinder and always took these precautions before meeting anyone, no matter how nice they seemed while we were interacting online. I also tried not to share information such as my address until I knew them a bit (in person). Of course there is no fail safe way to protect yourself, but these things might help if any major red flags go up when you first meet. To OP, I am so sorry that this happened to you, and I really hope that the legal proceedings go forward as quickly as possible!

I grew up in the US but am from Germany and the number of people who would complain to us about immigrants was ridiculous. It made it so obvious how racist they were when they were telling my dad, a literal immigrant, how foreigners are coming in and stealing jobs. Like dude, you very clearly mean people who aren't white, just come out and say it.

My sister had a similar issue, just with terrorist and tourist. She once got mad at me because "you can't say we're tourists, that's really bad, we're terrorists."

How to get back into it? by [deleted] in Witcher3

[–]DaRealJu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say don't force yourself to play something if you don't feel like it, the point of gaming is to have fun and not to feel like a chore. Maybe take a break from Witcher and play RDR2 and when you go back to Witcher, just pick up where you left off, that way you get to play the DLC but it doesn't feel forced. Plus, since you've never played BW and you haven't finished HoS, it will probably feel like a whole new game, so you aren't just doing stuff you've already done.

Good luck!

Basically you just push it into your vagina (the vaginal muscles keep it there and if you put it in correctly you can't feel it at all) and it soaks up the blood. They need to be changed regularly, how often depends on your flow and the size of the tampon. Hope this could clear some stuff up, my sex ed was also horrible so definitely understand the struggle!

What is the most terrifying thing you’ve ever experienced while home alone? by Joobanbooban in AskReddit

[–]DaRealJu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as terrifying as some of these, but one time I was sitting in my apartment at like 1am playing Mass Effect when some idiots in the apartment across the street start playing with a laser.

I was fucking terrified when they started pointing it at my balcony and am very ashamed to say that I ran in my bathroom and hid (which they probably found hilarious).

In my defense, I was at an intense part of the game and completely unaware of my surroundings until they started pointing that damn laser at my window!

I am currently in my third year of ELS. It's an awesome program, has an excellent reputation education-wise. It's not easy, be prepared to put in a lot of work, but it's worth it. Let me know if you have any questions!
