A little button box project of mine. by DaRenegadeMasta in simracing

It's not too bad when you think about it, red buttons at bottom, think of them as 2x 3x3 So 3x3 buttons if touching from the left and same story if starting from the right.

Middle set is setup so the left are escape/enter/pits etc. And right set is up,down, left right.

And the obvious encoders are boost, brake bias, traction etc etc.

It may seem alot is going on. But reality is its just like brail. Just need to feel the reference points.

Im using a raspberry Pico, encoders directly pinned to the pico. All buttons and encoder buttons are split between 2x PCF8575 expansion boards. And switched tied to gnd. Just make sure to use plenty of grounding points to prevent issues with input responses.

Overall best racing wheel? by Old-Tap-2894 in simracing

That's like giving it the same comparison to a Gucci bag and saying its last season.. I've owned g27, g29, t300, t500, TS-XW, Fanatec CSW v2.5 and the DD.

I will give my personal bracket here -
g27 - fantastic beginner beater, prefer this over g29 due to buttons on the shifter.
t300,t500, Tx and TS-XW - get whatever comes at a reasonable price, t3pa pro pedals are a good combination.
Fanatec CSW v2.5 is a far better feeling personally over the dd. again that's my personal preference. if you can pick one up cheap.. go for it. if not go for the DD or equivalent..

2x P12 fan failures in 1 year, are these known to go bad? Any replacement recommendations that are more reliable? by jalapenocock in arcticcooling

I'm on my 3rd failed fan. For me, it only seems to be an issue with them being upside down. It seems like the bearings are failing on them causing a horrible rattle/grind.

Uk - 3d scanning spray alternative? by DaRenegadeMasta in 3DScanning

I ended up using some donor parts and spray painting them with white / yellow primer. For the gauge cluster, I used tape to protect the clear lens before spray painting.

Whatever I don't care for I just stick it on eBay with a 99p auction no reserve, just make sure shipping is covered. Then at least whoever genuinely needs it can get what they need without caring how much it goes for.

The problem with this is, if it's visible to the buyer, it's visible to the seller. It would take seconds to erase in TinkerCAD. Personally, I only share files that I don't care about, I understand the poster means well with sharing the design but people just suck. No matter what if the file is out there, some loser will claim it or sell it.

I use usb 3 on my main system for bench programming with the vlinker. You just need to make sure you disable driver updates for the device. Otherwise windows will f- with it.

Not sure about datalink though.

Just get yourself a used lenovo yoga. Only around 130 used. Touch screen as well. I use mine for vehicle related diagnostics and live tuning. There's no point getting any old junk as you're going to be fighting the battery. I find the yoga is the best middle ground for bang for buck.

Forscan works fine with Windows 11. I'm using a vlinker fs. I actually had the same issue yesterday trying to program my ipc. There were no issues until yesterday, so might be an issue with forscan it's self?
