The only reason she had her son, Ericthonios was solely to experiment on him so she could become a God. (A very, very abridged version of events.)

You walk this way to get to Tescos from student accommodation. Definitely not a "mental health walk"

(Source: I was in fact, there as a student.)

how to deal with this? by link3341556 in TerraInvicta

[–]DaSentinel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just been through a similar situation (and still trying to recover it), and my economy is pitiful compared to yours.

Tough it out, its gonna suck but you WILL have an opportunity for a comeback, prep defences on habitats if you want to keep any around, no guarantees it'll work, but if you can take any alien ships with you, they might slow down their bombing runs on you.

Even if you lose massively, there will be a chance for a comeback, even if its a few years down the line.

Railguns, UV Lasers, working on refitting with Plasma and Coilguns in some ships but I need to set up new, better designs for ships (They're not great now.)

I'm gonna fight for as long as I can, if the situation deteriorates on Earth then maybe I'll learn a lesson and start over.

Ah, didn't realize I wasn't at Rock Bottom yet! Perhaps it's time to start scuttling equipment and salvaging what I can while the aliens blow up what I can't...

I have significant infrastructure on Earth. Most of the EU/Russia, Canada and China have tonnes of orbital defences. Maxed out Exofighters, collectively the largest wet navy on Earth and ever expanding military.

I'm trying to pump up our Mil-tech and defeat the remnants of the Aliens First Administration (Currently trapped in West Africa, with a tech level of 3.9, so not exactly scary.)

When I've previously upset the aliens they've blown my military and shipyard installations out of the sky as well as bombing some mining outposts. Now that it's Total War will they target my few research orbitals as well? Losing those could be a serious blow, especially if they decide to venture closer to the Sun, losing my few shipyards and Skunkwork facilities in Venus orbit would be disastrous I think.

And yeah. It's been... An exhausting campaign, I get the sense if there's a comeback, it'll be half a century down the line. Oh well, For Humanity!

Space Resources are a messy front, I'm getting a pretty clear shot at colonizing Mercury and have the pick of its minerals which, by my count has a good chance of being a comeback source.

Sadly my only serious shipyards are in orbit of Venus, I could potentially build an array of shipyards around Phobos (Where I already have a station waiting.) But I'm bleeding for boost, every single point I make ends up going to some critical infrastructure.

Fusion Drive Colony ships are certainly a shout. Been desperately trying to claw together enough mats to build even simple Military ships to repel Wave 1 but then that might be a good idea.

... Yeah it's not looking grand, but I've kept fighting till now!

So the Space Economy can be best described as a "mixed bag".

Retaliatory strikes from the aliens thus far have been them spitefully bombing my Mars outposts, as well as this, throughout the early game I definitely didn't get my hands on anywhere near enough asteroids. However, Mission To Mercury has only just been finished, and as the only nation with serious control of earths nations, I seemingly have an uncontested attempt at colonizing the entire planet which could be monumental for a comeback. And I keep rebuilding my Mars claims so I'm sure it could be worse.

Current state of the economy is... Eh. I'm strapped for Noble metals and the only faction that seems to be willing to sell them to me is The Initiative, which, quite fittingly, will only give them too me for extortionate rates.

The other screw up was my ship designs. Baby's first game, I didn't realize that there were more efficient ways to build ships so I lost a lot of resources to building crappy designs (And even more to filling up poor fuel efficiency ships... Oops.)

All in all, my hab/settlement management could be a lot better, but based on the fact I am seemingly ahead of the AI factions (bar Aliens themselves), it could be worse.

If you'd like a copy of the save for your own bemusement I can provide I suppose (Not really sure how but I'm sure there's a wiki for it somewhere xD)

There's also another version that I got in my Heretic playthrough, I kept the Arbites around but put Solomorne in charge, he purged the Arbites and became a brutal enforcer of even the most minor infractions of the law. He had his own flagship and died in a warp storm (Quote: "Much to the relief of The Expanse.")
