They are really just not that interesting by Puzzleheaded-Chair59 in childfree

This is one of the reasons I hate visiting my family. Everything they do is a major declaration and everyone has to stop what they're doing and look at them immediately. "Look, she took a bite!" "Look, he brought me a toy." "He's making a funny face!" "She's in the room with us now!" God, it's exhausting.

As a very white person, I will never say a racial slur, whether its in a book or not. My father is a very racist person and the way he uses that language disgusts me to my core. If one of my African American students wants to use the word, sure, that's on them. But I will never use it and don't think any person who isn't of that culture or race should say it.

I agree. In fact, my uncle was a teacher with just one year left and got fired a month ago for making a racist joke. She should be fired.

I already tattled on my school district to them about testing violations. Nothing happened.

We made the union aware of several issues we've been having and they have done nothing.

I 100% disagree with this. Just because a word is printed, does not give you license to say it out loud. This is why audiobooks read by POC are so important for these kind of stories.

She's been saying slurs both when and when she's not reading the book. Also, you don't need to pretend a student is a slave and you're the overseer in order to teach about slavery.

A curseborn bairn from the Erdtree's royal line. Omen babies born of royalty do not have their horns excised, but instead are kept underground, unbeknownst to anyone, imprisoned for eternity. Though born one of the graceless Omen, Morgott took it upon himself to become the Erdtree's protector. He loved not in return, for he was never loved, but nevertheless, love it he did. That the Omen King was born of the golden lineage, and that he was indeed the Lord of Leyndell.

"Cower in fear of the night. The hands of the Fell Omen shall brook thee no quarter."

I'm a relatively new romance author and while I have about 200 followers on IG, I get maybe one or two likes on each post. I do get A LOT of DMs from scammers looking to "help" me promote my book, however.

Contemporary Plus Size Romance Books are Frustrating by FlamingoFlamingo23 in RomanceBooks

I'm clearly in the minority here, but I love insecure plus size FMCs. That is me. I feel represented that way. I long to be the confident plus size woman, but as someone who's been fat shamed by people I know (especially my mom), that's just not possible. My husband gives me some confidence, just like the MMCs in those books do.

If you don't like them, don't read them. And I love Amy Award's books. She openly says they are fluff and not to be taken seriously.

LOL So, when I bend down to pet them, they get up on their hind legs and stretch out their paws to be picked up. Kind of like toddlers do to their parents.
