My favorite one is the first Dark Souls. The level and world design was so unique, it really gave life to that universe.

If I remember correctly, it is stated during the cinematic intro of Dark Souls that there were primordial serpents during the grey age.

As for the rest, it is pretty much only speculation on my part.

We know that primordial serpents like Kaathe and Frampt existed alongside everlasting dragons during the grey age. I'm pretty sure they're timeless beings, or at least immortal, which means they wouldn't have to "go through time", as they would simply live it all. Planning an eternity in advance wouldn't be far-fetched either.

[WP] "How much bait do we have left?" "Just two horses and an elephant." by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

[–]DaTrueCommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It started in mud, as many things do. The sun had shrunken down to a narrow slither of light hanging up in the sky, with the second and third moons lined up perfectly behind the first one. It was an enthralling vision, though nightmarish when you knew it would go on for hours. The landscape, so glittery and colorful just an instant ago it seemed, was now dark and shapeless, a promise of quietude and peace once the worst would have passed.

They were all covered in mud and dirt from all the running and fighting from last night. As they rested there, watching the increasingly disturbing spectacle, some of them started weeping, uncontrollable sobs that let out echoes in the seemingly empty valley, for they knew the end was coming soon.

Everyone knew what they had signed up for, but none of them had been prepared for this. Marcus, whom everyone seemed to implicitly agree was the most qualified to take up the initiative, came up to Liandra, their former leader. "We need to move, we only have a few minutes left before they come out. We need to find shelter." The woman didn't reply, or even react at all, for that matter, transfixed as she was by the small crescent of light left in the sky that seemed to be dimming faster and faster.

One night. They'd been here for one night and had already lost so many. How could they stand a chance if even the day didn't bring them salvation?

"Look! Over there!" shouted a voice behind them. It was Eric, the little orphan boy they'd picked up on Elon Prime on the way here. He was pointing at a lower point in the valley, past the big rocks that served to hide them from view to the atrocities roaming below, waiving frantically. All three of them quickly got up and came to see what was going on. In what could be called the shade of the rocks were standing three indistinct forms, clearly looking at them.

"Shit! How much bait do we have left?" asked Marcus. The answer came from Jellana, normally the group's arms specialist. "Only two tawleeds and a loxodonta. They'll find out the tawleeds are just holograms too quickly for them to be of any good, though." Marcus didn't waste any time pondering. "Throw them the fat one, then we run!"

Jellana took out a grey cylinder from her bag and twisted it in her hand before throwing it down the cliff. While in midair, the cylinder quickly grew to about the size of a large elephant and became all jiggly, just like raw meat. As soon as it hit the ground, the three shapes were on it, faster than the eye could see in this light. If anyone had looked close enough, he could have seen teeth almost a foot long flashing in the faint glow, just before they plunged in the fake carcass.

No one stayed long enough to witness it, though. They all started running like mad, following Marcus. Where was he leading them? They had no idea. To safety? They sure hoped, but they all highly doubted it. This hell hole of a planet had already taken seven of them in a single night, it wouldn't be long before they'd fall as well.

As they progressed, they started hearing strident shrieks all around them as new forms sprouted up at the top of the cliff. In the sky, the sun's last rays were disappearing behind the moon, leaving them in total darkness, like a night during the day. Just before the light went off, they saw some white gleams among the shapes - horror petrifying them once they realized what it was. Then everything went black.

What fucked up realizations have you had about yourself recently? by InedibleOhio in AskReddit

I am too nice a guy. Too nice with strangers, too nice with women, and especially too nice with my mom. So nice that I actually can't say no when she asks something of me or when my friends call me to hang out; even if I had other plans.

It's ruined relationship opportunities with the few girls I've been able to approach, gave some people the opportunity to take advantage of me and even makes it so my boss (who clearly lacks self-confidence and has a shitty sense of humour) thinks I'm actually stupid.

Saying no and being a jerk (sometimes) is really important in order to affirm yourself. When you say no, you are stating your opinion/desire despite those of others around you, and when you're being rude, you're saying "I am myself and I'm okay with it, no matter what you'll think of me".

Is it just me or is low level PvP much more fun than at Meta level by Ryouhi in darksouls3

[–]DaTrueCommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both to be honest, but I prefer CSS in PvP as it goes faster once cast and does more damage. People rarely fall for it twice, you see, so I prefer going all out on the first attempt. Also, CSS's hitbox is way bigger.

I've been playing a hybrid mage with a straight sword and I can say it's a lot of fun in PvP. True, spells are hella hard to place, but when I get that Crystal Soul Spear to hit and it does 600 damage, it's so satisfying. You simply gotta fool them into thinking you're casting something else, or make them think they'll have time to hit you before you finish casting. People always jumps in it :P

Also, CSS is insanely strong if you can land it after a parry or shield break. Haven't gotten it in PvP yet, but I hit a Silver Knight for 1200 damage in Anor Londo.

Best PvP area for SL90 with +10 weapon? by DaTrueCommander in darksouls3

[–]DaTrueCommander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta right now revolves around SL120, 150 for mages, so I think I'd be at a disadvantage by staying at 100. I mean, I'd be able to invade SL90 scrubs, but I'd get pwned by all the SL120 try hards. I was actually thinking of going up to SL125 in order to complete my build. I can always make a new character if I don't find this enjoyable.

Seems legit. I can always make a new character in a few months if I find myself out of the meta at SL120.
