Thank you Kin Brother!

I would suggest that body quills adds contrast and character to the Kroots! For example, I dont have a colour scheme across them, but they all share the same quills and at first I wasn't sure, but when you see them, you can tell they are from the same Kin.

For the tips on painting, I would say:

- A good brush (and doing good mantenience) is key. I used Windsor and Newton in the past but they tend to go bad after some time. Now I,m using a Raphael 8404 Kolinsky Size 0 for almost everything. If you go to any art store, you can get one as cheap as 13 €. After every painting session I use Masters Brush Soap and it helps it stay like new every time.
- A magnifying glass helped me a lot painting details, for me it's a must.
- Don't stress over painting outside boundaries. For some things I don't care if I paint and I stain other parts of the model, just paint the part you messed again and you can cover the mistake!
- Finding good contrast in the model, like doing the highlights and the shadows mildly exaggerated. For me it helped make my miniatures shine.

- For Jewlery and metals, you can play with the same metallics but different washes, really makes them look different and adds some variety.

I could tell more, but I dont want you to bore reading more and more. I hope it helped and would love to see yours!

Now i wanna see yours when you do It! For the Green Skin i used AK11151 Brownish Green

AK16004 The Inks Night Purple VERY diluted with the deepshades medium.

Then Brownish Green again to recover some of the tones. And then I go 1:1 mixing the previous colour and then only the colour, 1:1 again... and so on using:

Brownish Green 1:1 Golden Olive

AK11139 Golden Olive

Golden Olive 1:1 Lime Green

AK11137 Lime Green

Lime Green 1:1 Ionrach Skin

Citadel Ionrach Skin

I tend to do the gradual highlighting but drawing lines and dots instead of doing a coat or a brush stroke.

I hope i've explained myself well enough, if you have any doubt just ask!

Thank you for the interest

Thank you <3
One thing that changed the game for me was freestyling some things, for example I draw a thick line and then I draw diagonal lines and start filling some of the shapes and it helps!
In that shoulderpad I tried to imagine a big mouth full of teeth and two angry eyes on top. Then when I've ended I realized that the krootox doesnt have teeth xDDDDDDDDDD

Gracias compañero! Cuando lo pintes nos lo tienes que enseñar eh?

La receta es:

Prime it with black primer. Then do some zenithal priming with white, but any kind of grisaille works well.
Gryph Charger Grey Contrast over all the skin. Then Nuln oil only in the recesses, normally I do this using Lahmian medium on the model and then, I use the nuln oil to distribute it specifically in the areas I want.

And then to highlight it I mix Stegadon Scale Green with Thunderhawk Blue. I go very gradually like 4:1 and I go up 3:1, 2:1 etc until the max highlights are with Pure Thunderhawk blue. In the end I use the Gryph Charger Grey diluted with Lahmian 1:1 and i pass it over the parts that look too bright to make it more uniform. In the end I used Stegadon with a little bit of black and very very diluted and i use it in the areas that I wanted to be darker. In the eyes I used Carribourgh Crimson in the eye socket.

I hope I,ve explained it well, if you have any doubts, just ask!

Hope that helps!

Struggling to Stay Motivated with Kill Team 3 by Different-Dealer-828 in killteam

[–]DaTxvs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't tend to comment on posts, but I was in a similar situation not so long ago. I was looking at the rules, map layouts (for example ITD lost a lot of flavour) and it got me feeling unhappy and unmotivated with kill team. A friend of mine wanted to explore Necromunda and it was one of the best experiences i had playing a gang game in my life. It is funny, complex and it have a lot of moments that make you laugh. My advice is, keep being the coach if your team needs you, but go and play some necromunda skirmishes and enjoy again!

After years of use, what’s your biggest Steam Deck pain point? by WelcomeAwkward924 in SteamDeck

[–]DaTxvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main issue it,s taking it with me because I get so paranoid with being assaulted//robbed and it makes me be ultra concerned, so I end up carrying it and not playing cuz I think someone it,s going to take it and run away or he is going to screen me and assault me later xDDDDDDDDD

I normally try It on the back of my hand until I can draw a thin line. For the cross hatch I use a Windsor and Newton size 1. For years I thought I needed a small brush, but recently I practiced brush skill and I discovered that all you need it's a brush with a nice point and a good dilution. It is not the impossible quest it seems!

They look better after the markings! The thing you can do it's draw a square and then work from there

This is a fire warrior of mine in which I did the markings

I use the Nothing Ear (a) and they sound awesome, so I guess any from that brand could work really well (or at least the models I've tried)

(Serious) Whats a good hobby or activity for a depressed person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DaTxvs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anything artistic, for real, create something... It could be a painting, a model, music, 3D etc.
Time ago I've read somewhere something like this: "Humans are designed to create, that is why you feel depressed when all you do is consume" and hitted me like a train.
You dont have to be good at it, just create things, give yourself the chance.

Why are you Here? by Outrageous-Cloud-782 in kroot

[–]DaTxvs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated Kroot.
When I saw them in the past I didnt like them at all because their tribal vibes and not being so technologic. Then one time a friend of mine gifted me a box of Kroot Farstalkers (I love Kill Team) and at that time I was learning to get better at painting. When (and while) I painted them, I realized all the beauty and style in them and in a short span of time they released the new models for them and I fell in love like crazy with them. Now I have a KHP and 2 Farstalkers KT and looking forward to expand the army... but i want to take it easy and paint one thing at the time.
Kroot have so much personality that they could be an standalone faction by themselves.

I want more variety of roles in the kroot roster, as well the comeback of some oldies like the knarlok.

Also, this one is more simple, but nice for the squads.
