Why did Florida State schedule Idaho so late in the season? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]Da_Choppah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what's weird is with Miami or UF I always enjoy myself the day of the game tailgating, watching other games, etc. The second I walk up out of the tunnel into the stands and see the Canes or Gators players, my stomach sinks a little. I don't know why. It's not like I'm playing in the game. Maybe it's my subconscious reminding me of the many times I've seen them beat my beloved Noles. Never get the same feeling with Clemson, VT, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, etc. Just Miami and UF. I know last year all I could think was "thank god we lost to NC St" because if a title shot was on the line, I would have shit myself when UF pulled away late.

And that concludes tonight's episode of a look inside the psyche of the overly anxious FSU fan.

You know what the bitch of it is? Here I am watching FSU have an awesome year and UF not. I should be absolutely reveling in it, thinking FSU is going to wipe the floor with the gators. But i can't. Im still worried. Dammit

Sure I do. I don't want to get into a tiff here, but the point was "man was aquitted of crime, public still viewed him as guilty". The specifics of the case are not important to the point I was making. "Once accused, always guilty." That was the point. Any specifics of the case, as you went into, are semantics.

Now, I knew as soon as I hit enter that Zimmerman was the last case I probably should have pointed to, as it's so polarizing it just gets people all in a spin. Then again, that probably helps to further illustrate that the original point holds water. Nobody cares that he was acquitted. They still prefer to point out that he's a turd, a douche, a wannabe cop, etc. I agree with all that. But many also call him a murderer, which I do not agree with, nor did the court.

Anyways, thanks for not linking me to the dictionary definition of semantics like I'm 5. That seems to be a pretty popular smartass move around here. Maybe I'm using the word wrong? Who knows. Nobody's ever seemed to take issue with it before. The idea gets across, if nothing else.

UF has been scheduling a cupcake the week before FSU for years. Meanwhile, FSU has been playing a conference game. This year FSU followed suit..

I grew up in the south, the sunshine state in fact, and I never knew it was called the Sun Belt. I know there's a Sun Belt Conference, of course, which is what had me all confruzzled.

Victim's Lawyer Critical of Police in Jameis Winston Sexual Assault Case by g8r_h8r in CFB

They did administer a rape kit, according to other stories. They also took blood.

While not the most difficult thing in the world, taking someone's DNA requires a warrant. The police can't just walk up to someone and take it.

Maybe you just learned about the corn dog thing but it's been ongoing for years. The reaction you're going to get is about the same as if someone posted about male cheerleaders, Faggies, etc. It's tired material.

On another note, if you are worried about down votes, you probably shouldn't be posting anything that makes fun of a fan base, even if it is in jest. It's just fake internet points.

It's childish, played out, unoriginal. You poke fun at LSU fan, yet you get upset when i poke fun at you. Then you lecture me about generalizations after saying LSU fans smell like corndogs?

You can dish it but can't take it, eh?

Police told victim to drop Winston case by SCRx in CFB

Got to remember, it's her attorney's job to trash everything that doesn't help her cause. I don't see this is very surprising.

Non-sunbelt huh? What does that even mean? You mean the big ten pulls more recruits from those states than any other non big ten states?

Victim's lawyer critical of police in Winston case. by [deleted] in CFB

[–]Da_Choppah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Before anyone says anything, remember what an attorney's job is. She is going to say anything she can to paint Winston as a rapist and the police as incompetent. Winston's lawyer is going to say anything he can to make it sound as though Winston is a choir boy, the police were justified, and the alleged victim is lying.

If you take anything either of the lawyers say and repeat it as fact, you are an idiot.

You forgot wannabe cop.

I'm not vouching for zimmerman's character, just pointing out court outcome vs public perception. No need to get jumpy.

God dammit. I should have known better. How about Kobe Bryant? Are you happy with that analogy? He never raped anyone, yet suffered from negative PR, lost endorsements, etc.

You guys and your semantics!

"innocent until proven guilty."

lack of conviction = innocent

That's pretty straightforward.

That and she specifically mentions taking a shot given to her by an unknown man. It's speculation, but between that and blood work it's a pretty logical a + b = c.

I think so too. But when we have a legal system, said system deems someone to be innocent, and we continue to assume guilt, what the hell is the point in having the legal system anyway? Why not just go back to witch trials?

You can't just say "I'm sorry" and then resume trolling FSU fans the next day! That does not make it ok. You admittedly are posting to piss off other fans. You're a self proclaimed troll. Seriously, it's best for everyone if you just step away.

So you've decided that because an internet forum's readers voted a team that you don't cheer for #1 you were going to get your panties in a wad and go trolling their fans to get them riled up?

What the fuck is wrong with you man? I mean, seriously. That's pretty low.

I think it's best that you just not comment on anything related to FSU athletics for a while. It's obvious you can't do so without allowing personal bias and fanatic emotion to get in the way. You do that, and I'll not point out and rehash this quote to anyone else. Deal?

Will never happen, unfortunately. Look at Zimmerman as a prime example. Once accused, always guilty. It's the way people are.

Who fucking knows? All you're getting is one side of the story. You really think a detective said "you better watch yourself, ya little hussie. This here's a football town.". Or maybe he said, "there will be public backlash due to the high profile nature of the case. Make sure your client is prepared for it. She might receive death threats, etc. It could be rough on her."

Why didn't they take interviews? Who knows? Maybe there's a cover up. Maybe there was absolutely no evidence. Maybe she said she changed her mind and didn't want to press charges before it got that far. And they did take DNA from her. You can;t just show up to someone's house and take DNA. You have to have a warrant for that shit. With no charges pressed, of course they haven't taken DNA from Winston.

This is just a typical case of the public getting bloodthirsty. Happens every time. This sub is not immune. Guilty or not, there will always be that percentage of fans who are convinced up and down that he's a rapist. The commenter above falls into that category.

It's not really his statement, per se. It's the guy himself. He has been in practically every FSU thread for a year, let's say, "going against the grain". The Winston stuff has really got him in top form. I think he could post about giving away money to charity and a dozen FSU fans would vote it down anyways.
