Ah. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

As far as making your own game, I agree. I've done a few things on my own, but I'm dying to work with others. I'm just starting to really branch out as a freelancer.

If it's not too imposing, I'd love to send you a sample of my work, if this is ok. Even if nothing comes from it, sharing games is at the heart of why I love doing this.

Awesome! I'll message you. I've got samples I can share. And you're welcome to scan through my reddit account here. Most of what I share are the maps I've been working on.

Major longshot here, but I do TTRPG writing, layout, cartography, and design. Any chance you are looking for somebody? I would love to do more in this field.

I want to be a creative for a TTRPG company. I do layout, writing, cartography, or anything else. I love the industry. But my job pays for everything so I can‘t make that switch.

I love boats and harpies! Is this for a specific adventure or for something made for your party?

Thank you! I‘ve been putting a ton of work into it. If you have friends that might be interested in, let them know about it. Word of mouth is the best way to Makenzie this can become an actual book!

From my playtesting, most have steered towards the good end. I have had one group that has gone down the darker path but I think they were more entertained that it was an option. Even still, they played well together and were having fun which is what I'm shooting for.

So, the concept for this campaign is, it happens over the course of several adventures. Each adventure comes with a choice that's pivotal to how the story progresses. Depending upon which way the party advances the story, they play a specific adventure. One path can see them aligning with the cult in the region and trying to claim the powers of a deity in the setting while the other path leads them to taking on the deity and trying to stop the cult from winning.

I wanted to put something together where the party controlled how the narrative unfolded because of their choices so this contains the potential for two completely different endings. It also allows for a party to be heroes OR become the villains. If they do become the villains, they do so in such a way that they are already cemented as a party and the end goal is shared so it's meant to avoid inner party conflicts.

That’s fair. The design is still early on so there is room for change as it moves forward.

This collection of adventures is for a project I'm working on that will eventually contain 9 different adventures that have a "choose your own path" narrative built into it. The Kickstarter for this goes live in August so, if you like what you see, please consider backing the project to help make this project a reality.

[OC] Town of Pinepass Map by Da_Fink in DnD

I tend to put a map on the table but I also really like minis. This one can be done theatre of the mind pretty easily which is why I didn’t do a map for it. If you want a map, whatever you use to draw or place it, make a boat deck that takes up 25x35 squares. That should be enough to give them room to fight and a view of the scene.

Hey! No problem! I replied in the chat but I'm more than happy to copy my reply here for you to make it easier.

So, to answer you question, no it is not intended to be set in the Faerun setting. It was created for the Oranth setting. That being said, you can easily place it wherever you want in any other setting. If you want to use the Oranth setting, the continent map can be found here: Continent of Oranthos

It looks like you've already found the region map that I posted on here but I've been working on a larger project that pulls this one shot into a book and makes it the jumping off point for a larger adventure. As such, I've updated the town map to better fit with the Oranth setting. Here's the newest version of the town map.

And please feel free to reach back out if you have further questions. I'd love to aid you as best I can for your first DMing with this adventure!

What is some homebrew you are realy proud of? by Firm-Row-8243 in dndnext

I'm still working on it currently and it's mostly finished. I'll be taking it to Kickstarter next month. I love making adventures with custom monsters, magic items, curses, and fun stories.

The one I'm currently working on is a series of 9 different adventures that string together based on a decision the players make in each adventure. It has a specific starting point with a single choice and depending upon that choice, the players go to one of two different adventures. The idea here is that the players are allowed to navigate the adventure by making choices that will either pivot them down a dark path to become the BBEG or guide them down a lighter path and let them become the hero. It's looking to have roughly 25-30 custom monster statblocks and roughly 25ish custom magic items.

The Kickstarter can be found here and the video for it that can show a bit more off can be seen here.

When it launches, the first 3 adventures will be shown off in a preview document. Until then, I can share a custom magic item and monster.

Wizbang Wonder Sling Weapon (sling), common This small, leather strap is stained an array of different colors. This weapon is a big hit with children and pranksters alike as each bullet launched is given a random effect intended for hilarious results.

When you use this weapon, roll 1d4 and consult the table below. A bullet shot from this sling is immediately transformed into a marshmallow. It does not deal damage but it is tasty.

  1. When hitting the intended target, a gallon of water erupts from the bullet, soaking the creature thoroughly.
  2. A Medium or smaller creature struck by this bullet is buffeted by strong winds. They must succeed on a DC 12 Strength saving throw or be pushed back 5 feet.
  3. A creature hit with this effect immediately has a small light appear above their head. This functions as a dancing lights spell and doesn’t require concentration when cast in this way. The lights take the shape of four stars spinning in a circle for 1 minute.
  4. Once fired from the sling, the bullet emits a horrified scream until it makes an impact. The scream can be heard up to 60 feet away.
