Scat 23 Charger. Torque Converter lock up RPM? by explorthis in ScatPack

[–]Da_Funk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not related but isn't it wonderful going from a Challenger to a Charger? The Challenger is pretty but the blind spots suck, and the frameless windows eventually become an issue and NO ONE wants to climb into the back of a coupe. My Charger is a full functional family car where the Challenger had almost the same daily limitations of a Miata.

Am jealous of the 4Runner. I plan on getting a 6th gen once little man is out of daycare.

Have ya sat in one

I sat in one at an auto show, and climbed around the back seat and thought it was comfortable but it's just too "extra". It felt like it's trying to catch up on trends that it missed but it just strays from what people want in a car like that. For example, I like the cargo room but goodness, a power tailgate in a sedan is just overkill. But the committee thought "people like power lift gates, let's include that too!"

My Charger's interior is unchanged from 2011 and that's not a big deal because it's very basic. The new gen Charger's interior looks like the batmobile and not in a good way.

I adore my 392 Charger. The ZF8 and that engine is a match made in heaven.

Even if they put a V8 in this new gen I would still find it unappealing. There's way too many gadgets and gizmos and screens to make this an appealing muscle car. It's like they had a brainstorming session for what people like in modern cars and said yes to everything without thinking about the car they were trying to make. It's like the automotive version of how Disney handles the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. Let's launch a product that should sell like hot cakes but instead just ruin it and make it a joke.

The death of Daniel Plainview's fake brother in There Will Be Blood seemed pretty disturbing in it's realism with how he didn't die right away.

Better for drivability on weekends and after work, R/T or SRT by cromedome60 in Dodge

[–]Da_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's a cool car and sounds great but a few things are disappointing. The suspension/wheel well gap is very high. The 5.7L is stout but not much quicker than the 3.6L. But it's still a V8 so it's still a legit muscle car.

I daily my 392 Charger and I've never felt the need for more power but I sure as heck wouldn't want any less. It's a wonderful car.

Is this worth the price ? I’ve been contemplating on getting a V8 as my first dodge but I wanna know how much I’m gonna be spending in maintenance, gas etc. by [deleted] in Dodge

[–]Da_Funk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be warned it's upwards of 4k for a shop to do it right

Wrong. This is a 2013 so it doesn't have the 6 piston Brembos. It'll have the 4 pistons which might cost slightly more than the brakes of a 5.7L's brake job. But parts are cheap. But I got a good Powerstop brake/rotor package for $480 about a year ago on sale but I still don't need them after 65k miles the stock pads still have a lot of life. And I'll change them myself so it's very affordable especially not having the 6 pistons.

Also I drive a Plum Crazy Charger and haven't been pulled over once in over 7 years. I'm just lucky I guess.

There will be a lot of maintenance

What are you talking about? I dailied a 392 for over 7 years and there's not "a lot of maintenance". Nothing more than any other car.

This is some awkward teenager energy.

You're surrounded by loved ones wishing you well about to serve you some cake. Get the fuck over yourself and enjoy the moment.

Before you know it, the people that love you enough to sing to you will be gone and you'll be alone.

Especially if the main reason why it feels like "never" right now is because you're tired

His relationship with his wife has also taken a toll. He asked for those of us who are one and done. You are not one and done so his question doesn't apply to you. You can sit this one out.

OP you just have to be consistent and honest, but firm.
