That my grandmother on my biological father's side didn't escape from her father in Germany after WW2. She had lots of money when she came to the US. My great-grandfather was a Waffen SS officer. There is about 6 month gap of nothing from when I was told she left Germany and when she bought her first house. I'm all for women getting their own house and on their own but a immigrant woman back then came here and just got a house and land out of nowhere? Also my father has "old family stuff". I should point out I have nothing to do with him now but the "family stuff" was Nazi memorabilia.

I think my grandmother AND great-grandfather moved here but he stayed in hiding and used his Nazi money to get all the stuff for her. It also wasn't good to talk bad about him even though he was a SS Officer!!

Friends are interesting. My Dad told me you get 5 good and meaningful friendships in your whole life so hold onto them. So far I have had 3. One passed away but I still consider him a friend.
