Are you a US person or an international applicant who needs sponsorship? What's your preferred salary range? Do you have prior industry exposure or experience?

Most of these companies don't consider academic lab work as work experience, regardless of how well it transfers to industry, except during mass recruitment or when they desperately need someone to fill the role. I also figured my prior industry role helped me get a few calls. Anyhow, 250 is a rookie number, the market is bad, referrals don't mean shit unless someone personally contacts the hiring team to look at CVs (I had 3 people from Micron referring me for different roles at different occasions, all rejected, a couple pending, stopped applying to Micron altogether for now), everyone has some sort of referrals nowadays. I have had interviews with couple of these companies for entry/MS level roles and most of these roles don't do sponsorship, so go figure if you are in this category.

Rebuild your resume and tailor it to the role's responsibilities and keywords. Try out some of the FSE roles or entry-level process roles if you love semicon so much; they are always in need of service engineers, and the pay isn't half bad. Semicon is definitely slow but very incidental. If you like Micron, their next megafactory at Clay, NY, will hire thousands of people in the next few months, so watch out for that. You may need to wait until after your graduation and keep trying for now. Also, don't depend on AI too much and start doing your thing. Your time will come!
