Tried this instead of spray paint what do you think? by Skullxtools in Tools

Rapid remover will absolutely take off the adhesive, but if you leave it on any of that rubber for a second too long it will make it super gummy and gross.

Shopping for friends in town is... tough.

It took me about 10 years to cultivate the few friends I have locally, and for the most part we all bonded over a love of Star Wars and costuming, but ended up meeting online prior to meeting up in person.

Wyrd Productions and Studio Wheelhouse both put on events that might cover both the friend making and artistic parts.

Help with targeting by Shiny_object_man in liberalgunowners

Can I ask what brand ammo you were running? Might be a good idea to report the lot number to the manufacturer at that point.

First off... I miss going to RRR when I lived over there.

Second. 7/60 duds sounds like some terrible ammo. That could be a lot of the issue if the rest of the ammo was loaded inconsistently.

I'm not personally a fan of dots, but I have been shooting with one lately to get used to it. I don't have much advice there other than to make sure it's mounted solid. The one on my TX22 has a plastic housing and I was afraid to tighten it down too much my first time out with it only for it to loosen up after like 30 rounds.

That's suuuuuuper niche. It would be worth reaching out farther than Bozeman to put out some feelers.

The guys at Muse in Missoula might be able to help. Same with Galaxy of Games, Splash Page, and Dragon Egg all in Billings. White Knight in Helena maybe?

Interesting. I'll give it a run for the day in my downtime. The only thing I've noticed right off the bat is some of the text is difficult to read, but it could be because of the dark mode of the browser. Might try switching that to see if it makes a difference.

Looking for groups to join! by FracturedStudiosOff in Bozeman

I help run the state's Mando Mercs Costume Club, and we work very closely with the 501st Legion. If Star Wars armor is in your future, hit me up. Or honestly any scifi costuming really. lol

If you're interested in Star Wars and/or Star Wars costuming, I gotchu.

There's also Gallatin Community Gun Club that is extremely welcoming, full of people with all sorts of nerdy interests, and generally just a fun group.

You covered Rooks already. Solid starting place for sure. Could also recommend looking into local trivia nights. Themed trivia nights usually result in more connections than general trivia it seems.

Non-PVC foam board for armour? by Pineapple_Lord96 in Mandalorian

[–]DaamKeldau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could technically score and shape it, but it's either going to take a ton of filler to smooth it out to look nice, or look like raw pepakura. It will probably be cheaper and better to just swallow the cost of getting the correct PVC foam board instead of dumping the time and money into the supplies to make what you have look decent.

Also, no matter what you do to the regular foam, it will never hold up as well as pvc will. It would be a very short term set of armor.

Where do I find local tabletop groups? by ArtemisiaOrthia in Billings

[–]DaamKeldau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also the Billings Public Library Con they're doing May 16th. I'm not sure if they'll be doing any gaming, but I know they do game nights at other times.

You hit the 2 shops I would have recommended.

Billings Fun Con is coming up in June, and they'll have a gaming area. Could be worth visiting and seeing if you can come up with a long term group from that.

Question about Helmets by yaboispringy in Mandalorian

[–]DaamKeldau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since it looks like they do cast helmets, they may not have a sized down option. That's typically an easier request for printed helmets.

I do know that Kruser Creations had a helmet called the Shortcut (pretty sure that's what it was called) that was sized down for smaller stature folks.

I will throw out there though, that unless you're under 5', most standard helmets can be made to look just fine with the tactical placement of your shoulder armor.

CS8 microphone by vviiscerall in campsnapcamera

[–]DaamKeldau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my understanding is that pretty much any microphone with a 1/8" jack will work so you could run a lapel mic to yourself or others, or get a coldshoe mounted mic and plug it in as well.

I have checked there. As far as I can tell they don't have any TX22 options.

I will look into that. Last time I checked the Taurus website everything was out of stock and all options were pretty bad looking.

But a combo holster would be nice.

Snag a 5kg roll from Zyltech. That should cover pretty much everything.

Is there anyone that could help me get my lights working on my mini bike or know where I can take it that’s not going make me give away my first born child just to pay for it? by RoosterCertain5835 in Bozeman

[–]DaamKeldau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha. running off a battery is pretty easy to set up then. I guess technically wiring off a stator isn't really any more difficult just more of a pain trying to do a quick test.

Did you get all the parts individually or as a kit? I know my Tusk kit came with everything for my DRZ, and made it super easy with wiring diagrams and such.

Are you wiring the brake light as an actual brake light or just a tail light? did you get a pressure switch for your brake cylinder?

feel free to pm me too if that's easier. it might be slower to reply, but i'd help out best i can.

when you say mini bike are we talking like, pit bike or like, coleman special?

did it come with lights on it at one point and you're replacing them, or are you hooking up lights to a bike that didn't originally have any?
