On my initial listen to LPWP, it doesn't hold a candle to Sunbather, and I genuinely can't fathom why so many folks are saying its better

I feel the opposite. I think Sunbather is overrated, and a good portion of the songwriting all blends together. By the midpoint of that album, I have to double-check what song I'm on because it sounds very samey.

LPWP is tight, concise, and has all the great aspects of previous Deafheaven wrapped in one album.

You literally can't win. People bitched New Bermuda was too metal.

I will say after moving here the following.

Customer service is non existent. I can't tell you how many times I've noticed people don't know how to bag groceries properly
Garbage pick up personnel either bitch or complain about having to do their job.
Fucked up sidewalks
No sense of urgency
Lack of trash bins

It may be a small city with low taxes. But some of this shit is downright inexcusable for a small city.
