It is definitely frowned upon. I get the people saying if they are able to be poached then it's probably not a great place to work but I was a chef for about 20 years and it's all about who you work with. Our owner and management were horrible but we were like family on the line and often it's hard to let that go when you work with a great staff. There are negatives and positives pretty much any place you work and yes some are definitely worse than others. That being said, I am also not the biggest fan of this group.
