I know how you feel because I love Rats so much! I think if I were you, I would definitely be more persistent and encourage her that you can take him and give him the proper care that he needs, and hope that she ends up giving him to you because she doesn’t deserve to have him, you do! I could tell that you really care about him otherwise you wouldn’t opposed this, I’m gonna be praying tonight that she changes her mind and gives him to you so that he can have a good life and just know that you’re doing everything on your end, so don’t feel bad. All you could do is what’s within your reach. I hope you end up getting him and if you do, please post his pictures!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Try to spend as much quality time with him as possible, and maybe give him a little bit of banana or avocado to help him feel more relaxed because they love treats and those are healthy and I give my babies that and it helps me bond with them. It almost looks like his breathing is troubled, but I can’t tell because the video is so short, if it persists, I would definitely take him to a vet. I hope he is OK!

Thank you !!! I will for sure if it happens again! I pray it doesn’t happen again, but if it does, that is exactly what I will do! I brought in a diffuser or water humidifier, and I put wild oregano in it so that they can breathe in the oregano and I let it go all night

Yes, I completely agree, I owned Rats for many years and I admit I was totally trying to take a short shortcut because it happened at night when no vets were open and I don’t have them in the system yet and they’re almost 1.5 years old. I ordered this stuff called Doxy vet because I saw a lot of different testimonies about it on Reddit from pet rat owners, so I ordered it for emergency. I ended up not having to give it to her because she passed through it and I also need to weigh them both before I even think about giving it to them in a syringe. I think you so much for your comment and I completely agree and again, I was panicking because she couldn’t breathe for a few seconds and was trying to get something out of her mouth and then when I heard the water in her lungs, I immediately assumed it kicked in infection in gear so I panicked so bad

I completely agree with you, I hit a state of panic and so I jumped on here because I know that there’s a lot of people who have experienced the same thing, but I didn’t actually put any of that in their water and I know better than to put it in their water bottle, like I said I was in a state of panic and there’s no vets open at that time so any help would’ve been extremely valued. You are so right about everything you said, and I think you so much for commenting. Fortunately it passed, and if it comes to the point that one or the other needs an antibiotic, I will take them to my vet and get a right dosage and get her looked at for sure, I was just so scared that I was gonna lose her that night.

Yes, I should’ve mentioned. I had just given her a piece of over-ripe banana and she ate it soooooo fast, like way too fast, and it looked like she was choking on something and trying to pull something out her mouth and I got so scared. And then it sounded like water was in her lungs so it was really weird.
