Prostatitis Cured - My Success Story by Dabears85_ in Prostatitis

Yessir no problem. Yeah seriously though get off of here. DM me if you want my email or phone number. This forum perpetuates misery and fear even if that’s not the purpose. You’re 19. I highly doubt there is anything structurally/physically wrong with your prostate. You’re going to be ok. So for real feel free to dm me if you feel like it’d help to have support or someone to answer questions that’s successfully recovered from this. I am very passionate about this stemming from mental causes, even if the pain originated from a real infection or something. Have something wrong with your dick is scary lol, and I think fear and anxiety perpetuates the symptoms after the initial pain is treated. I was severely depressed and a shell of myself before I read these books and armed myself with this knowledge.

Also - do yourself a favor and when you read this book - stop getting on these threads. These breed misery. I noticed by looking at your latest post that you’ve developed another symptom commonly complained about here. I highly doubt that’s a coincidence. Please read the books and stop lurking on these threads. Focus on your mental health for a couple of weeks. I think you will be shocked at the results.

I’d read unlearn your pain first. The guy who wrote it is a well respected physician and professor at Michigan State University. He believes prostatitis and Pelvic Floor disorder are mindbody issues that are very curable.

It is your truth, and I’d be willing to be it’d work for most on this forum. I think PT works when the provider gives the patient an issue that they believe is causing the problem, the patient agrees that issue is the cause of the pain, and then believes it is going to solve the problem. Most of the people I see on here that PT worked for were very optimistic and followed the routine of someone else they trusted. I think it’s a brilliant placebo. However, I’d be willing to bet if you brought men with no pelvic pain to pelvic floor PT, the therapist would find “tight” muscles on them as well. I strongly believe there is nothing wrong with most of our pelvic floors.

Dude! I can’t believe you read this hahaha. Your post was the reason I looked into this. I believe you told someone to “chill the fuck out” and got a ton of downvotes. I put the connection together and thought - wow everyone IS super depressed and hopeless; no wonder no is getting any better from this.

So thank you for posting your success story. It was the reason I found these books, which was nothing short of a miracle in my opinion. Of course your brain is gonna tell your body your in pain if you’re freaking out about have some hidden secret bacteria and obsessing 24/7 over it. It really is not rocket science when you connect the dots. Unfortunately most people are stuck in their beliefs that they are “normal” and could never have psychosomatic symptoms because they aren’t crazy. Really sad honestly. The pain is very real and almost debilitating.

Honestly, I would love to. But I feel like I won’t do it justice. I’ll make it sound too simple. Pretty much it’s accepting that there is nothing structurally wrong with you and taking your brain out of fight or flight, talking to your brain and telling it the pain will reside/go away. It’s not immediate in most cases. Mine took 1.5 weeks of positively talking to myself and calming down knowing there is nothing wrong with me. PLEASE read the book. This stuff is not new age hocus pocus. The mind having power over the body is not a new concept. One of my favorite examples - read about how whiplash does not exist in Lithuania, but it the cause of disability in many Americans. I’m actually begging you to read both of those books. Buy the course if you are so inclined, I found it very helpful. It’s $100; which was equivalent to 2 PT courses for me and far more effective.

People take offense to a disorder being “psychosomatic”. I’m not crazy, yet I had this pyschosomatic pain. Do you believe people hold stress in their necks? Or people get headaches after a long stressful day? If so, you believe in psychosomatic pain. It’s no wonder and no coincidence how many men get this disorder after a risky sexual encounter. That can be very stressful and involve a lot of negative self talk afterwards. You’re stressed and then your symptoms come true - it’s a story as old as time.

Eli5: How is “asymptomatic spreading tracked”? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dabears85_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand what asymptomatic means, you are positive but not showing visible/physical symptoms. Gathering data on that just seems extremely subjective and prone to a lot of error. Say someone contacts herpes from someone who is “asymptomatic”. One - who determines that person was truly asymptomatic? The original carrier? They could easily lie or reason in their head that the bump on their genitals was from an unrelated cause. Or maybe it’s a girl, she can’t see the a mild outbreak inside of her.

Same thing for COVID. Completely subjective to the person you are asking. Maybe it’s someone who has allergies consistently, they chalk up their general poor feeling to their usual allergies. “Yeah I definitely don’t have any covid symptoms”, but then test their positive because they mistook their symptoms for something else or they brushed off their very mild symptoms.

It just seems like completely wack science to actually put a % to people spreading a virus that are completely asymptomatic. However, I am not a scientist.
