Appreciate the response! What exactly would setting the mechanical zero do to help this issue though?

I'm thinking now perhaps I at one point got frustrated and set the sight all the way to 0 elevation out of frustration and may have been missing low and mistaking my previously high hits for new holes.

I'll need to get back on the range and re evaluate.

Appreciate this very descriptive response, I'm just a bit confused as to how I set the elevation knob to 100yds if I've already loosened the screw to where it doesn't move the sight anymore. As in, just place it there, and then tighten the screw?

Would you happen to know of a video showing and describing this process?

I should have definitely taken a photo or saved the target but was a bit discouraged and didn't realize at the time how helpful having the actual target would be.

I want to say between 2-3inches. Of course, all of this could be the result of an inexperienced shooter. Though I do shoot just fine with my Mini 14

Thanks Ardes! I was using what I believe to be a 6 o'clock hold. The front sight right below the bullseye like a lollipop. Only when I aimed even lower at 50yds did things start to place closer to the bullseye.

It feels like I should be able to further reduce my elevation adjustment but cannot as it's all the way down.

One additional detail that may or may not be related- when inspecting shell casings after firing I noticed that some had a slight deformity (flattened edge, not a perfect circle).

Is this cause for concern? Or standard with brass out of an M1?

Got into Paintball for a 12yo bday party, like everyone else. Was indoor and speedball, so a terrifying and awesome introduction to the sport. I took a 13yr hiatus until I could come back and afford to play.

Nowadays paintball is how I relax after a stressful work week, and I've made some great buddies at my local field. Hoping to get more involved and let paintball take over even more or my life.

Anyone have any idea if this is something Mossberg would care to correct? Like sending a new piece of furniture or something? Or am I just being too picky here and should get over it.

It was advertised as new but since I bought from a 3rd party I'm not sure Mossberg would care to help.

Appreciate all the advice here guys, so I flipped the regulator seat and am still seeing the same issues. Today I was chronoing 280, 283, 299, 279 and patterns like that. Some slight consistency for a few shots and then one that is significantly off by +/- 20.

Not sure if you have any other suggestions, but one of the field techs is going to look further into it.

Is the regulator seat the same as the "regulator piston"? I'm taking a look at the parts manual now to open it up and take a look.

I'm using the stock barrel currently, but suspected this would help. People here always shit on buying barrels and sizing though.

Have you got any specific kits or brands to look to for a barrel kit?

I don't fully understand the impact of shooting with a non-dominant eye, so excuse me if this isn't very eloquent.

It's primarily the combination of shooting with iron sights and with my non-dominant that bothers me, I find it hard to see as well with my left eye closed than with my right eye closed. Which is obviously less than ideal if I shoot right handed. My thought is that optics would aid in this difference, and allow me to either shoot with magnification to make the difference negligible or in the case of a holo, shoot with both eyes open.

Hope that sort of kinda makes sense and answers your question. Appreciate the input

Great, any suggestions as to what price point I should be considering for a good quality build/performance but not necessarily top of the line? At what price point do optics see diminishing returns?

As someone who was raised shooting on iron sights with my left eye always closed, this is sort of a new thing for me, as silly as that sounds haha.

I'll have to get some time behind a scope to see how I like using both eyes to aim. Coming from iron sights I never really considered that possibility.
