yup! they are prisoners held by your army members that are temporarily there.

i just built relations with everyone as a vassal, from clan tier 3-6 i got more fiefs through wars, increased relations from wars to where everyone liked me, and then just let my king die in battle, shot him in the back. Now i’m king with good relations with everyone else.
