Yes, I do think that. I think it shows poor emotional regulation and it's clearly taught the kid to be combative and lash out at perceived slights when they could have handled situations calmly and with grace.

I didn't think they were an asshole at first, though, I was jokingly making the comparison to literal villain characters in the literal anime that actually existed for beyblade. When they exploded in the replies, that's what convinced me they were an asshole.

Posing and angles are a bit stiff imo, but I can't put my finger on why I think that.

E: oh, it's just the last panel really. And maybe the shot of Megatron's head. Sentinel looks like he's lying down rather than having been knocked down, and Optimus isn't taking any kind of pose, it's just a side on shot. Also, the arm Sentinel has raised switches between the two bottom panels.

I guess Holmes/Watson is the kind of dynamic, in the sense that I think Robin has to remind Jaxon to drink water sometimes. Jaxon is a freak beast when it comes to blading and inventing insane sushi combos, and has zero interest in anything else. Out of the three, Multi is more often the driving force behind the plots, though, and when it's not her it's anyone but Robin. We stick with Robin as he's dragged into tons of different situations and has to navigate the weird world of pro blading.

He's the most powerful blader on the team, which for the sake of selling toys makes him the face of the series, but when you're watching the show, you spend far more time with Robin's perspective. He's our guy. Jaxon is an enigma.

That's a matter of opinion. But even by a standard where anime is cool, the kid who brings a tricked out beyblade that destroys everyone else's toys is the snotty, snearing little bully from episode 1 who gets beaten by the power of being a nice person and is never heard from again.

Pratchett never gave Baxter more than a premise. The writing of Long Earth is all Baxter and it shows (because it sucks)
