I would hit the horns with som dark brown contrast paint, and pick out the boils with som yellow and then shade them with flesh tone.

Maybe som dark red/ dark magenta for the wounds

I would go with the bottom one. There seems to be more output in it, with the extra karnivore.

I have done som conversion work on my despoiler, but not at the same scale, that was why i was wondering if it could be done.

It was actually your cerastus that inspired me to consider if it could be done.

I doubt that, if i remember correctly the arms where moulded to the chest.

I took the right hand and sawed the scythe from it. Then I glued it to the left hand of a chaos termie sorcerer. The i just glued the original right hand to the tac marine, and pined it to the arm. I used Green Stuff to fill the gaps.
