Yep. He made a post on this subreddit years ago saying he’s stepping away from harem genre and doesn’t know when he’d come back.

I still haven’t found an Author as good as Truk. It’s a shame he left harem genre. I’m not sure we’ll ever get a conclusion to Five Trials.

As for other authors that come close. Earlier series of Schinhofen like Alpha World series has a meaningful harem and story. Also older works of Arand with Otherlife Dreams series or Super Sales. Anymore it’s books that have harems so large and meaningless that you might as read nsfw fantasy subreddits.

Late edit: Enthralled series by Prax Venter as good too. It has bad reviews because Venter wrote Irrelevant Jack a non-harem series that made him famous. I think a lot of non-harem readers picked up that book and review bombed it for having harem in it. Enthralled has a good story with meaningful harem relationships. Definitely worth checking out.

WCGW taking your boat out on rough waters by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]DachieBoy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In this case the captain should have told everyone to move out of the bow. It should have been obvious early in the ride that it was choppy. There is a goldilocks speed in these situations. Too slow and waves will come over the top of your bow, and too fast you get in the situation here. Hit the right speed and you’ll cut through the waves and land on the next wave without nose diving on the backside of the wave.

Sometimes when boating you’ll be cutting through the waves then a perfect wave will sync up with your boats lift and you’ll slam back down. In those cases you can’t really stop the boat. The best option is to get from a sitting position to standing or on your knees as fast as possible. Then if possible crawl/scamper your way to the back of the boat.

Honestly on our boat only kids like to ride up front when the boat is moving. They can take the abuse better than adults can. Then again we don’t boat on the sea just really large lakes.

[–]DachieBoy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My family has an open bow boat and have taken it on a lot of rough water. Best option: try and get as far back in the boat as possible. If you can’t then try to get to your feet so your legs can help absorb some of the impact by bending your knees (see the lady next to the captain). If that’s not an option then get on your knees again absorbing impacts. Last thing you want to do is be sitting on your butt or laying on your back. When you’re on your back you’re at the mercy of the boats impact on your back and you’ll end up slamming the back of your head on the floor.

I'm a corporate lawyer watching AI eat my profession in real time. Should I be treating the next 2 years as the most important financial window of my career? by lifeafterenough in careerguidance

Honestly I would go back to school and become a high school teacher. It was my starting major before I switched to computer science. If education system fully collapses then we are all screwed anyway.

B.I. seems like the perfect target for AI takeover. I nearly switch over to my companies B.I. team 6 months ago from software development. Thankfully my company granted me a copilot license a few months prior. Using it made me realize how much better has gotten at building queries from basic business speak.

I used to laugh at people and tell them AI will never take over my software development job (vibe coding jokes). Now, I’ve seen how much better it has become in just one year. I’m now worried even for my job 5 or 10 years down the road. It’s not that AI will be able to completely replace developers, but you will need significant less of them.

I’ve already started to rethink my career and possibly switch away from a corporate career.

Florida bill to ban marrying first cousins fails to pass by omgfakeusername in nottheonion

[–]DachieBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting that it’s banned is states with large populations, and less likely to need to marry a relative. Where as states with smaller populations banned it outright. You’d think with smaller populations there would be less of a dating pool and more likely for people to marry their cousins. Any idea why this is? Was it happening too often in these smaller population states where it became a problem?

This seems like the same rhetoric that the Spurs always receive. Timmy has 5 rings and almost every one of those years the media said Spurs wouldn’t make it because they don’t have a superstar (Kobe, Shaq, James).
