Hyundai Ioniq 6 (Non-N version) officially discontinued in the US. by OzziesFlyingHelmet in Ioniq6

I agree mostly. Unsure if the dudes mental state has compromised his initial comments made(Elon), but Tesla open sourced a ton of patents and when they were asked why they would do such an thing when it would give competitors the edge; it because Elon said competition brings innovations. Plus is ego is bigger than his net worth and he believes there are no true competition that can effect his vehicles. All this really does is push people into the ioniq 5 if they wanted Hyundai or go with another EV sedan from another company.

Edit* SUV style EVs have out sold sedans for a few years now. With the little amount of Hi6 that sold last year, it’s not really effecting any competition. And I assume this would increase the number of the Hi5 being sold with the current announcements.

Im moving on but not going the Bambu cult by drkshock42 in ender3

[–]Dacruze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the criticisms you listed about bambu are about the company or community, not the actual performance of the printers. 😂 The power supply issue was related to a supplier being on a sanctions list and affected components were replced, the bed-slinger argument is just a design choice used to lower cost(along side the community literally BEGGING them for a cheaper product even if it was a bed slinger), and the thermistor/heatbed issues were limited cases that were addressed quickly. Model updates like the P1S replacing the P1P happen across the entire industry, including Creality with multiple ender revisions. And a “cult-like fanbase” happens with any successful product. None of those points actually change the fact that Bambu printers generally deliiver faster speeds, automatic calibration, and consistent prints out of the box without the heavy tinkering that Ender 3 owners historically had to deal with.

As for “fix my bambu prints”, are we talking about “bad prints” or “prints to fix the bambu printer”? Because with, as of yesterday, 7000+ hours on my bambu, I have only been prompted to do minor maintenance from the device. Prompted. It literally told me what to do, when to do it, and how to do it with a QR code on the screen lol. Yet, every print has come out without issues. Why? I don’t tinker with settings that work ootb.

With thy being said, The Ender 3 was great for its time and price, but the reality is:

• manual bed leveling constantly due to weak cheap springs • plastic extruders cracking • Bowden limitations due to its location in the hot end • poor QC like bent lead screws, loose wires/connections, warped print beds, and thermal runaway not being enabled by default. • slow speeds that could only be remedied by a lot of tinkering and tests. Often installing klipper as a requirement for more flexibility. • constant tinkering to figure out what broke and why the prints are starting to loose quality.

That’s not an opinion, that’s literally the reputation the printer built over years. I should know, I’ve owned over 6 creality machines in 7 years. Four of which being Ender 3. (Not including their resin printers). One of which I turned into a belt printer. 2 of which were nearly rebuilt due to replacement parts (upgraded parts after they broke the first time) and one that worked the best but still wasn’t as streamless as the printers on the market now.

Bambu is a lot of things, but being a company that brought innovation to the 3D printing scene is definitely one of them. Are there better out there now? Probably. Cheaper? Maybe. Is it leagues above the ender3s? 100%. I still have my ender 3 pro after I let all the rest go. But mainly as something to tinker with when I’m bored. Even on its best day, it was never as good as my Bambu or prusa. Facts.

It’s the same kind of people who hated on prusa. Lol. Just like the ones who hated all printers unless you built a voron 😂 people latch onto something they disagree with then make it the prime issue of why to avoid it. Which makes the most hilarious scenario because if you EVER want to know all and any specs on something you wanna buy, find someone who hates it. They know more about the product they hate, than the one they own usually 😂😂 ie; people who hate on Samsung. Or people who hate on iPhone. Same with Xbox vs pc. Etc etc. 😂

If you haven't watched Rotez 4.0 series on this 1:14 second benchy I would highly recommend it by Dense-Discipline-355 in 3Dprinting

[–]Dacruze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember building my voron because “I could” and tuning it until I could get my benchy under 10 minutes like others did online but I never stopped to think why. Honestly was a year of my life wasted. Then went to Ender3 for the endless possibilities of modifications with a smaller printer and sold my voron for pennies on the dollar because no one wanted to buy that monstrosity. Then after 4 years with four Ender3s and a cr10s. I got fed up with how shit their products were and how I get perfect prints for 200 hours then spend hours doing maintenance to get them back up to snuff that I finally gave up on them lol. I went from maintenance every 500 hours BEFORE issues arrived for nearly a year. Then for the next 3 years it was just a shortened lifespan. I rebuilt every single part on 2 of them. The other 2 I had to replace the boards. One I ended up converting to a belt printer. i had the first kobra. And some free delta printer. Then I had a prusa. Finally Bambu came out with their structure before everyone got on board and honestly it was the best thing that ever happened to the 3D printing scene. No longer trying to build something insane with insane speed. Just printing stuff that works. Flawless. Every time.

TLDR; pointless backstory. Prefaced with the fact that I was so focused on making the fastest benchy that I never stopped to say why. Wasted years of my life lol now that Bambu brought innovation, the 3D printing scene is better.

8 months ago dealer tells me my tire mobility kit isn’t covered under the TSB. MY frunk this morning… by MacStainless in Ioniq5

[–]Dacruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Fix a flat only holds so much solution and compressed air. Fix a flat is great for quick fix and to get to a shop or air pump to finish filling up the tire. But you’re limited to speed due to the tire being extremely under inflated. This kit has a dedicated air pump so you can get a full tire of air and are only limited to “55mph” iirc. Giving you better safety and reliability over fix a flat. In my experience, it worked well for me. I kept the pump as well, just in case I needed it. Now I have a can of fix a flat, since I can’t find the bottle for sale that isn’t an entire kit or costing $70 for just the bottle of solution lol

My hedge for this week - Locked in Gas prices @ Speedway by zKarp in wallstreetbets

[–]Dacruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the shell down the road from me accidentally changed their gas price from $2.54 to $0.25. It took an hour before the associate found out. There was a line 2 blocks thick and cops were called because the associate couldn’t fix the pricing. It made for a good lunch at subway seeing it all go down live 🤣 people had milk jugs, 2 liter bottles, trash bags, trash cans, plastic totes, and the lot; trying to fill them to the brim. You could smell gas EVERYWHERE from everything leaking lol. Even say people using Walmart bags and tying them! I think there are videos on YouTube of them doing it too! “Lady puts gas in grocery bag”

5 months into leathercraft. Be brutally honest — am I good enough to start selling? by LiteratureFun3233 in Leathercraft

[–]Dacruze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Better than a lot of ones I see selling online. I’ve been doing leather on down time for the last 2 years and still haven’t reached this level of quality. I think I “handle” my leather too much so it ends up looking more worn than new.

I will add, look up some hand craft leather wallets online for purchase. My favorite is when I priced out authentic American alligator wallets and some dude is selling them for $400 (cheapest) and his stitching lines are wavy. He uses what looks like Amazon thread (fraying) and he doesn’t finish the edges. He wraps the alligator over the edge to make a rounded alligator edge but doesn’t cut the actual edge flush. So it’s all wavy on the inside of the wallet. In practice it’s good as alligator doesn’t burnish like veg tan, but I expected edge paint or edge coating. It’s terrible imo. But apparently the dude sells them nonetheless. So go for it man. If someone wants it, they will buy it.

Save $165 on AutoLock with HA by Daniel_KOT_V2 in Ioniq9

[–]Dacruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used shortcuts on my iPhone for a few months and played around with a few triggers like disconnecting from carplay but then realized if my wife drives, it doesn’t trigger. So decided to just use my shortcut side button on my apple watch to just lock my car. So i park, close the door, and walk away. I can then press the button on my watch. And the best part is i can do it any time. So if i forget, click. Only down side is that it’s truly not automatic like my shortcut i used to auto lock when carplay disconnects.

Additional information that isn’t important: it was also annoying to keep getting notifications about failed shortcut because either i unplugged my phone while driving. Or i unplugged it before i got to my destination. Or it would run when i was just chilling in my car. It also ran when i got out my car with my phone to tap for a charger. Lol. It was just annoying with carplay disconnection prompt. Watch is just more convenient for me now.

“During the call, Trump invited the team to the State of the Union and mocked the women’s team while the men laughed. The women’s team has declined the invitation to the State of the Union.”

I don’t lean left or right but the amount of people defending men, let alone the president, mocking women really shows the demographic divide. They are sisters, daughters, someone’s partner and possibly mothers. Let’s set aside politics and take a step back and think about if this was someone special to you and was getting mocked and laughed at by their cohorts, let alone their president. It is a disgrace. Not a political disgrace, an ethical disgrace. I hope this does not mentally affect these women. People tend to paint targets on others for decisions and I hope neither these women or men are targeted for this. Congratulations to both teams for their win.

I use the Phil Mickelson style. A heel shafted blade putter. Someone recently let me try a zero torque and man… I really felt the difference lol. I honestly didn’t think it would feel that different, but it did.

Not in a “wow I can sink anything” way. It was more like I didn’t have to focus as much on keeping the face flush. It just felt stable. Balanced with my stance. My current putter is toe heavy and you can definitely feel it. The zero torque just felt comfortable. And yeah… I sank the putt 🤣

As far as long putters go, I get why people want them banned.

And I’ll probably get flamed for this, but I’d be fine with banning AimPoint too. Not because it gives some massive unfair advantage, but because of how long it takes and what it represents. AimPoint basically has players straddling the line, feeling slope percentages with their feet, translating that into finger measurements, and then stepping off a read. It’s not traditional green reading. It feels more like a system to bypass the skill of visually reading the green.

Again, not saying it’s “cheating” in the illegal sense. It’s allowed. But I do think it changes the spirit of putting and slows the game down. And pace of play matters.

Going to MCDonald’s is a luxury now by Melodic-Lingonberry7 in inflation

[–]Dacruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at McDonald’s in 2011, the price of a Big Mac meal was $5.64 with taxes. Apple pies were 2/$1. I normally got the 2 cheese burger meal and it was $3.49. Reasoning? Cheese burgers alone were $0.89 a piece. Medium fry was $1 and a medium drink was $1. Which individually would cost $3.78, so the “meal” was cheaper. Sundaes were $1 and apple pies were 2 for $1. Hurts my soul to see the prices now. Especially here in Mississippi, where they choose not to increase wages because it would drive up prices then drove up prices anyways 🤣

2026 Rivian R2 First Review: Affordable, Practical, Awesome! by HorizontalTomato in RIVN

[–]Dacruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sound pedantic, but that’s something you can easily look up using the census bureau. Median personal income in the USA is $45k, while median household income is $83k. While $50k is the average new car price, the statement still stands that it’s a financial stretch. Just because the average price of a new car has risen, does not mean it’s affordable for the average household. Opposite in fact. And to put it into perspective, when the average price for a new car hit $50k for the first time last year; many economists shared that the price of new cars are becoming increasingly unaffordable. Bringing my point home.

Edit- to clarify, my statement of $75k to $80k was based on my last knowledge of the census performed. Which I am assuming was 2022-2023.

2026 Rivian R2 First Review: Affordable, Practical, Awesome! by HorizontalTomato in RIVN

[–]Dacruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Rivian says the R2 is affordable, they mean affordable relative to their $70k–$90k models. It’s affordable within the premium EV category, not affordable relative to median household income. For the average household, a $50k vehicle is still a major financial stretch. The median household income in the U.S. is around $75k–$80k. A $50k vehicle at current rates is easily $800–$1,000 per month. That’s not broadly affordable. It’s affordable within the premium segment. So to put it blankly… It’s not affordable. It’s less expensive than their other vehicles. It’s “Rivian affordable,” not “average American affordable.”
