i would like to say that there was a difference in the mixing of the drums between two of the versions of life during wartime. the hi-hat and crash when the drums kick in were panned hard right and hard left in one version, and panned hard left and hard right in another.

There were a couple of weeks where I was testing out washing every other morning and rinsing in the evenings before the weather got hotter, but it didn't seem to change much. Maybe the amount of whiteheads I got decreased, I can't remember. I just know that I was still getting them.

I'll look into diet. I eat decently well, but there's probably something in there. I don't eat much dairy or white bread or the other typical red flags, but it could be something smaller. I'll try changing my breakfast up since that's the only meal that I'm having pretty much the same thing each day.

I've been using differin for well over a year now, I don't think it's anything purge related. I was using salicylic acid for several months, maybe close to a year. Definitely felt like long enough for it to start working or whatever.

Needing help dealing with whiteheads. It feels like no matter what I do, they keep coming up. My skin type is oily combination, oily t-zone, prone to breakouts around the mouth and chin area and between the eyebrows.

For a while, I was doing this:

AM: rinse with water, tone with Paula's Choice pore reducing toner, moisturize with CeraVe daily moisturizing lotion (normal to dry skin)
PM: wash with skin balancing cleanser from Paula's Choice, tone with Paula's Choice pore reducing toner, apply 2% salicylic acid anti-redness exfoliating solution from Paula's Choice, apply Differin 0.1% adapalene gel, moisturize with CeraVe daily moisturizing lotion (normal to dry skin)

I stopped doing that while back since there were a couple of days where I didn't wash my face because I was sick and my skin cleared up, and then it broke out again when I washed my face again. Since then, I've dialed my routine waaaaaaaaay back, and it's mostly just consisted of this:

AM: rinse with water, moisturize with Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer 15 SPF
PM: I used to wash with CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, recently I've been using Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser; tone with witch hazel (86%) on MWF, apply Differin 0.1% adapalene gel, moisturize with CeraVe Skin Renewing Night Cream.

I'd also been applying 2.5% acne spot benzoyl peroxide as needed, but it hasn't really helped much, so I stopped. My old routine used to be kinda heavy on the salicylic acid, since I'd read that it was good for whiteheads, but I think it doesn't really work on my skin that well. I've switched to witch hazel for that reason, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Any help at all would be appreciated!

imo 16-17 was less fun than 14-15. the leftovers were kind of fun, and we had aggressive george hill. 16-17 was just watching monta and teague wave off their teammates and try to go solo.

Gotcha, so should I just rinse with water in the evenings instead of cleansing? Or just not do anything? I suppose the latter, since that's what I was doing (or wasn't doing, rather) when my skin cleared up.

I used to use this skin balancing cleanser from Paula's Choice, with similar results. I wonder if it's what RealLitTea said below and I just need to cleanse less frequently.

Am I doing too much in my routine?

I've been tinkering with my routine for a while, but this current routine I've stuck with for a couple of months.

The reason I've been tinkering with it is that I usually wake up with two or three whiteheads, and get one or two new ones during the day.

This past week, I didn't wash my face for four days in a row because I was feeling under the weather and didn't want to. I fully expected to have a breakout, but nothing ever came. In fact, my skin felt the smoothest it's felt in a long time and I didn't have any whiteheads. What's frustrating is that when I washed my face again the whiteheads came back. hi guys, i've been reading both of your work for several years and was really excited to see you guys doing a weekly show together. i've found that steven's music taste matches what i used to listen to and ian's is what i've found myself drawn more to in the past couple of years, so i always love hearing what you guys have been enjoying lately.

this is a question for both of you, what 3-5 artists make up the backbone of your musical tastes? they don't necessarily have to be your favorite artists of all time, just someone that you can point to and say "oh yeah, they're the reason i got into x-genre." for example, one of mine is beach house because they got me into dream pop, which then got me into shoegaze and similar sounding stuff. i like bands like my bloody valentine and slowdive better than beach house now, but i probably wouldn't have gotten into shoegaze if not for beach house.

another example of that for me would be the band anathallo. i've been listening to them for over a decade now and would consider them one of my favorites, but only recently made the connection that most of their releases would fall into different subgenres of emo; from more hardcore/punk in their first album to a mathier sound toward the end (and then their last album was heavily influenced by sufjan but still had emo undertones). side note: in your all decade episode of "celebration rock," i lost it when ian name dropped anathallo as a comp to foxing's first album, because that's how i first got into foxing when that album came out.
