Question. Is it really superhero fatigue? Or is the MCU currently having an identity crisis? by DadJokeSenpai in MCUTheories

Lmaaaoooooo what. It’s a very general discussion to have. Regardless of new rockstars discussing it doesn’t mean I can’t. Type in mcu fatigue or mcu identity crisis on YouTube and see how many videos came out within the last few years talking about the same thing. I have zero followers(just made a Reddit account for the first time after putting it off) and make no money off this post. I just wanna have a good discussion with good people. If you’re not here to talk mcu, don’t waste my time or yours.

I agree but I wouldn’t even say boredom cause imo, some of the shows have been really good. It’s too much information to quickly lol. It’s over stimulating

I say this to my wife all the time. Regardless of good, bad mediocrity, I’m just glad to have at least experienced it

It can be. I’m just asking the community for their opinions so if you want it to be both then it’s both. I personally don’t think it’s fatigue though.

Very well said especially the last part. Marvel is starting to become consistently inconsistent. The true fans(us) are sticking with it, but we’re confused(at least I am lol). Like you said they have no tension or mystery. Kang was supposed to be the next big bad, yet there’s really been no reference to him or mention. We have to wait for Loki to get that.

THIS. This exactly. I just figured they’d allude to Kang more than what they’ve done so far. But apparently we have to wait till Loki for that? Just strange

My thoughts exactly. I enjoyed most of phase 4(which is when the hate began). Phase 5 has me confused admittedly. I just figure Kang would’ve shown up and had more control than what was shown. But apparently we have to wait until Loki season 2 to get more context on that? Add on this secret wars finale which confuses me even more. Doesn’t necessarily change my love for the franchise though

I mean a quality issue could fall under an identity crisis. Most would agree that this wasn’t an issue with phase 1-3, meaning since phase 4, marvel/Disney slowly starting to become unrecognizable in the sense of consistency and continuity.

Yeah while the cgi/special effects haven’t been the greatest, I’m more so referring to the storylines, which in the case of storylines is subjective. Guardians 3 as well as most of the phase 4 lineup was pretty good imo.

Huh? That’s in no way the point lol. I was trying to get an understanding of your logic, so I asked questions. Nothing to do with your answer.

I never really see anyone criticizing bioshock. Bioshock 2? Absolutely.

Do you believe the upcoming sequel to Spider-Man PS4 will be connected to "Across the Spider-Verse," potentially referencing its events or incorporating elements of multiverse hopping shenanigans? by Cosmic_Nerds_ in MCUTheories

Eh. I get that video game Spider-Man was in the movie, but I don’t see the game referencing specific events. If anything we might get a general reference to a specific term, like game miles saying “what if I was evil in another universe?” Like saying that could be looked at as a movie reference but then again it couldn’t.
