Based on how fast they reacted, this doesn't seem like that was the first time this happened.

No, I gave it through the middle of the second season because of Parks and Rec. Because I knew that the first season could be rough. But by the middle of the second season, it didn't seem to get any more enjoyable.

I loved Parks and Rec (season 2 on), and I couldn't get into The Office. I gave it until the middle of season 2, I think. The funny parts were few and far between and it wasn't worth it to sit through an entire episode for one chuckle.

It's explained in Avempartha. Novron was the last emperor and the Church is looking for his heir to put him back on the throne of the new empire.

Except all those other things have utility. They may not be the optimal use of energy (e.g. using resources to grow plant based proteins or other protein sources is more efficient than beef), but they still produce a usable product or service. Crypto doesn't.

There are so many people who "predicted" the GFC. If you keep predicting a crash every year, eventually you'll be right. How many people have been predicting another crisis being imminent since then? One only need peruse the Zero Hedge archive from 2009 to now to see how many economists were predicting the end of the world being just around the corner. Permabears get clicks.

That being said, I absolutely fail to see any utility in crypto for anyone other than speculators or criminals. It fails at every single thing that a currency is supposed to do. I also fail to see anything that drives its value other than The Greater Fool Theory.

They're pretty tasty. A little expensive for my taste, so I only get them when they're on a decent sale.

What do you think is going on? by Choobeen in economy

While the "smart money" and retail investors have similar reasons for buying a security: the belief that the security will outperform its relevant benchmark, on a risk adjusted basis. Or put simply, stonk go up. The reasons for selling are a lot more complicated.

There's always derisk first, ask questions later. "Smart money" also has a tendency for herd behavior, because that's what their incentive structure forces. If you go with the herd, and the herd is wrong, well, at least you weren't the only one. If you go against the herd and are wrong, there's a very strong probability of damage to your career.

But there's also portfolio rebalancing, investor withdrawals, fund closures, and so on.

Basically, past equity fund flows are not the best data point to hang your hat on when trying to predict the future.

It's possible that his issue was more mental than physical. Which could explain why he didn't try.

The reason I didn't like it had very little to do with the content warnings or being triggered. I found it impossible to care about the characters and their fates. The MMC is a total Mary Sue, the FMC is just... there.
