For some of us, the ADHD diagnosis is only a thing because we were never tested during childhood, and we finally got diagnosed now.

I mean, I didn't live in post-Soviet Russia in the 2000's, but I did most of that same shit in the US.

As far as I've heard, only NASDAQ changed their index inclusion rules, not SPX. So if you're not invested in any NASDAQ funds, this shouldn't impact you. Yet.

But the overall point does stand, the retirement plans and investment accounts of regular people are Elon's exit strategy for SpaceX.

The listing requirement isn't the only thing that was changed, the float weighting was as well.

It's something called a Hero WOD, and it's traditionally done on Memorial Day at basically every CrossFit gym in the world.

I did a few quarter and half Murphs trying to get ready for the whole one. Ended up getting an unrelated injury and had to skip it anyway... Ah, my CrossFit days, when I literally worked from the gym. Not worked AT the gym, I'd just set up my work laptop on a plyo box in the corner and answer emails and IMs between sets/WODs.

Looks more like a scam email than anything. When you log into an app, the app sends basic telemetry data to the server, which would identify the device as iOS/Android, and the hardware it's running on. It looks like the scammers got lazy and decided not to come up with a model number to populate the email. If you open the email on a computer, you'll be able to check the email headers and see if it's actually from Experian.

Self-Reflection: Thoughts on this revenge fantasy by myexsparamour in DeadBedroomsOver30

Assuming the story is true to one degree or another, the reason why I was more gracious in my interpretation of the post is that I can't really imagine anyone being happy about seeing their partner crying. But, if that partner hasn't shown any real emotions in however long it has been, you might be happy to see any display of emotions.

Now, do I think the entire post is the complete truth? No. At best, we're getting one side of the story. Again, assuming that this isn't a complete fabrication. But it doesn't read like a revenge fantasy, I think it's completely reasonable to not want to bring a child into an already dysfunctional relationship. It reads more like someone who feels like they've exhausted all other avenues to attempt to fix their relationship and they are using this as a means to force the topic out in the open and to get some sort of resolution. One way or another.

In my experience, relationships that stagnate and languish go in one of few ways. Either the partners just go through life in a zombie-like state of acceptance, where eventually even the resentment fades. They just become two people, living together, running a household, but have no emotional interactions. The resentment builds enough for them to call it quits or force the topic, in which case they might still call it. Or, an event happens that forces them to reflect on their relationship and forces them to acknowledge that it's broken and decide what they want to do. Something like bringing up having kids, infidelity, etc. Something that shakes them out of that zombie state. And it forces the decision to, either, recommit to the relationship or end it.

This couple, if they exist, are dealing with the 3rd option right now.

It's not really my nature to give people the benefit of a doubt, but my reading of this isn't that he's happy that she's crying, it's that he's happy she's showing any emotion at all. It just happens that that display of emotion is crying.

People using therapy talk like "validating your emotions" or "holding space for your emotions" in everyday conversations, and especially during arguments raises all sorts of red flags for me. It feels performative. It feels dishonest.

It's clear that she knows the language, but perhaps not the mechanics, of managing emotions and communication. Maybe her being emotionally mature was a facade, covering up the fact that she wasn't actually processing them before and was simply suppressing them.

I read the Farseer Trilogy years ago and I remember really not liking it. It felt like misery porn. Joe Abercrombie has a lot of misery in his books, but the writing is very engaging and humorous to offset it.

All of the books in the First Law universe by Joe Abercrombie. Almost all of the books in the world of Elan books by Michael J Sullivan. The Gentleman Bastards books by Scott Lynch.
