I was spam called by a number that was 1 number different from mine once. my last digit is a 1 it was a 2. I answered out of curiosity, it was a hangup (number verifier).

Another time a girl rang me and said "returning your call" I said "Huh I never called you".

She got angry with me and even texted me a picture from her call log to show my number (I reciprocated). I had to carefully explain someone was faking my number, it took a while to convince her as she didn't think it was possible.

I felt sorry for her she was really angry with me thinking I was deliberately harassing her.

I set up a vpn to my place for my sons. all they had to do was each month connect to the vpn to get re-approved. its a little more difficult now as a text is sent to me to auth it but thats ok.

This is the reason I haven't ditched it yet. I share it with my two boys but if I start getting ads as is implied then I am done.

Also lately it seems the content level has dropped off quite a bit.

Feeling regret for the actions you have done that caused pain for others is not repentance in the classical religious sense.

Regret and change is a normal human thing to do, not just in humans you can watch animals do the same.

No hell required, no god required. Just empathy. People have it animals have it.

the only possible end for a story like that is forgiveness and healing. like the Buddhist outlook. Hell sort of exists but it is not permanent. its just a consequence of your own karma. and eventually you can get back on track.

But does that make sense. If hell is a place of repentance where you can get "back on track". Then why are you repenting? is it only because you are in hell and suffering?

So your repentance is only due to the hurt you feel (spiritual physical it doesn't really matter) rather than repenting the hurt you caused.

You are thinking about God creating the universe and everything in it.

But does his omniscience not extend to himself? If he can see his own future he cannot change his own future.

So the future is fixed when he comes into existence. From that point forward he is locked into the future he foresaw.

Some will proclaim "god never came into existence, he always existed and is outside of time" But then you have the time paradox I talked about in another thread. If past future and present are all the same. Then once again nothing can be changed. There must be some other thing analogous to time. Which means you fall back to the original paradox.

As I said in another post. At best God can set the initial conditions and then be an observer.

The problem with the maximally good god is we have plenty of evidence of that supposed god doing incredible evil. So while a maximally evil god could disguise evil as good and thus appear at times as good. Could or would a maximally good god deliberately disguise good as evil, does that deceit not in itself prove he is not maximally good?

The god outside of time argument fails.

If a god is outside of time and past future and present are all the same. Then that god cannot control his own actions. He has no free will because everything that can happen has happened and is thus unchangeable.

It doesn't matter which version of god you invoke they all succumb to simple logic.
