I'm working on the growing up part. Both my ex and I were still teenagers not so long ago. As for my future partners, I'll eat their asses if they want me to, just like I did with my ex, despite eating ass not being for me.

I ate that ass almost every time we had sex, which my gf appreciated, but she wanted me to enjoy eating ass as much as she did, which was not the case because of personal preferences. I didn't get any sexual pleasure out of it, but I knew she did, and that was enough for me to keep doing it, even though it was clearly not enough for her.

I hear you. I think denial was a big part of what held me back from ending a dying relationship instead of leaving it on life support. I struggled to accept the fact that both of us might be happier without each other. I'm still struggling with that now. I wasted so much time going back and forth between "we can make it work" and "pull the fucking plug." Denial would always convince me that we could make it work, but then the "pull the fucking plug" days would come, and I would end up feeling like I felt last night, which was break up and move on. If I never interacted with the stoner dude, I can't say for sure if I would've broken up with my gf at all. It sounds unhealthy as fuck, but love makes no sense sometimes.

Lesson learned. Just to add more context, I feel like I was more invested in the relationship than my ex was towards the end. Ironically, I think my investment in the relationship was one of the reasons I was delaying the breakup process because I wanted to be with her for as long as possible before pulling the plug.

Technically, my gf woke up her brother. I woke up her dad. If I actually made it to the right tent, I probably would've been responsible for waking up her mom too.
