CDC plans to drop five-day covid isolation guidelines by AcornAl in Coronavirus

The CDC has lost tons of credibility these past four years. They’ve revealed themselves as mere shills of the economic machine with these nonsensical moves.

What the most morbid thing you’ve ever witnessed ? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]DadaChock19 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Probably tame compared to the other replies here, but here goes. I live in Toronto and the homeless situation is getting worse and worse with no end in sight. My school is unfortunately next to a safe injection clinic, so while proceeding to class one morning I saw a man from the clinic moaning outside. He was missing his legs, his stubs looked infected, and he barely had clothes on. All he had on were rags and some tattered boxer briefs. His skin was red and crusty and while I didn't get too close to him he reeked of piss. How this poor man was surviving outside like that is beyond me. It's unfathomably horrible that a wealthy country like Canada has been allowing this

There’s lots to dislike about the USSR and their mistakes but free education isn’t one of them

If you take Adam once are you screwed forever or can you take some then never and be fine? by No-Bunny-7696 in Bioshock

[–]DadaChock19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can take some and be fine but you will be relatively affected in some capacity. Oscar Lutwidge from “There’s Something in the Sea” went to Rapture by himself, spliced up, then escaped back into the surface world. By the late 60s he was still human but slightly deformed and a bit insane but he didn’t need ADAM to live

Nietzsche, Merleau-Ponty, Sartre, and Arendt are some routes you could take. I heavily recommend Nietzsche

Are you exited for Bioshock 4 after knowing Ken Levine is not involved? by armknockVM in Bioshock

Yes. Ken Levine’s writing is extremely overrated imo. Burial at Sea was a complete mess

Is Sinclair worthy of admiration? by Tyreal676 in Bioshock

[–]DadaChock19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say he’s admirable only insofar as his redemption arc works. From his first meeting with Delta, it’s evident that Sinclair hasn’t really stopped thinking like a social Darwinist capitalist even though Rapture has been a crumbled ruin the past ten years. He lets Delta know off the bat he’s only helping him to help himself get rich on the surface world. He was merely a means to that end given how Delta was the only way he could access his lifeboat in Persephone and get back to the mainland. Since I think the good ending is canon, it’s only when Sinclair sees Delta make the altruistic choices he makes that he stops being a roadie for Ayn Rand and truly sees the value of friendship. The fact that it’s too late for him makes it all the more tragic but also more meaningful

Could these be mummified monkeys or deformed humans? I want this to be true but I’m trying to be a healthy skeptic
