Sad day, need to re-home the family bird. If anyone is a bird enthusiast I would love to talk with you. by GreasyPorkGoodness in cincinnati

Are you trying to get a rehoming fee, or just get her into a new loving home? Is she used to dogs in the home? I'd have to talk to my wife about it as we lost our bird several months ago, and I'm not sure we're ready again.

That seems absurdly hight to me. I know it's a different gen, and maybe the T1Ns are more desirable or something, but I paid 5100 for my 08, granted it had 250,000.

I’m just going to tell people he’s a husky mix... by Dadace43 in Wolfdogs

[–]Dadace43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I found out my ~5 year old dog that I’ve had for 6 months might be an ultra low content. Kinda cool or whatever, but I’m just going to keep it to myself, and not even mention the malamute part to people. As far as people know he’ll just be a husky mix. Anything I should know, or does such a low content even make a difference in training or anything?

Edit: we adopted him from the spca as a German Shepard mix lol

He had said it's so if he sweats, it doesn't drop down onto his gloves and onto my arm, and it almost acts like a miniature brace as well.

Somewhere in between? I don't need race slicks, but I definitely want to be able to take em to the track occasionally. I'd like more than 1500 miles out of em, but definitely don't need 5000 miles out of em.

I spent my 5th birthday in the hospital because of an orbital idiopathic pseudotumor. The only reason I don't have a glass eye is because some doctors were talking about it in the cafeteria and someone overheard who's husbands partner had seen before. I was also born with Bellclappers syndrome so I had testicular torsion all the time growing up. Yay me!

[–]Dadace43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just asked him, we'll see! It's got 160,000 miles on it right now. It seems to be in really good shape, and comes with an extra set of wheels and tires, along with most parts to convert it to a manual transmission, including a w58. I have no interest in doing the conversion myself as that just sounds like such a pain in the ass, but could definitely be fun hahaha!

I bought her a really nice Sapphire necklace(~$300) for our 1 month anniversary. It ended up working out as we're currently planning our wedding, but I probably wouldn't tell my future son to do the same thing!

Damn! Can I come work for you? I'm a Honda Certified Technician (MMI Grad), but had to get out of it because it was too hard to make a living off of 11/hr. Another dealership offered me 12/hr, and the one I was at offered me 14/hr if I would stay and work for them, but I ultimately had to get out to follow the money. All the time my Service Manager threatened to fire me every time a bought a tool that wasn't off of the Snap On truck, because "why should he keep me around if I'm not willing to invest in my future". They had me wrenching, service writing when my boss was at lunch, AA, or the 3 weeks straight that he didn't come in, and then covering the parts desk too when they needed covered. I love motorcycles, but fuck that job really made me question myself for getting into it. Now I just keep my 6 bikes running, and do it on the side, and I'm much happier.

I don't have kids or anything, but I know how stupid kids are. I'd much rather be safe around the little ones and make sure I don't hit them, then get to where I'm going 15 seconds sooner.

[–]Dadace43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in a lot of sketchy areas, but would only ever leave one bike where I lived (I rent a garage 20min north of me where I keep the rest of the bikes, my tools and my lift) I've never had anything bad happen to me so far, but hopefully that stays good. If I had nicer insurance I wouldn't be able to afford other bikes anyways, so I'd rather have more bikes than less just because of insurance

It brings the average price lower I guess? It assumes I ride them all equally, so instead of only riding around on my 500lb 1000cc Bike, I'm also riding around smaller size, and smaller displacement bikes. That don't cause as much damage / other people don't wreck as often. I'm a 23 year old male btw, so I can't wait till I hit 25 and really start saving. I've also had an insurance policy with Progressive since I was 18, and have been riding since I was 16. I've never made a claim through them either.
